Well it's sad on here now, so...

Who's got one? I have a 30 gb dell dj, but I REALLY want a 60gb, black, video ipod.

Of coarse, I'll be the one paying (which will hurt)...but, bleh.

I've already downloaded a few movies in ipod format, and some friends are going to help me put The Police videos, concerts etc.. in that format too. I can't seem to find them anywhere to download, already in that format (ipod is really picky).

It's going to be awesome!

It will be my graduation present to myself. :D

I use my pocket pc as a type of video iPod. I got a used Dell axim x3i for about $140 off of e-bay and I just rip my dvds onto my computers hard drive and shrink them down using the free open source xvid codec so I don't have to worry about Apple's ridiculous DRM'd propietary video format. And I can record tv shows on my computer through my tv card with a free tivo clone. Then I copy the video onto a secure digital card (you can get a 4 gb card for less than $100 now). An hour of video is roughly about 500 mb at 320x240 resolution , so I can fit about 8 hours of video on a 4 gb SD card. And you don't have to worry about your hard drive dying or having to send your ipod out somewhere when the battery dies after a couple years.

I download my movies as torrents, on sites divoted to ipods. They're already in the correct format, and look great!

Now I haven't bought any software to convert vids, but I did download some (haven't gotten it to work!)...but I found a way to get itunes to convert it for me! It worked really well on the Everyone stares trailor, but I tried it on an mpeg of Every Breath You Take (still can't find my dvd of the videos to wrip them...I miss that), and it worked....but it won't play sound!

60 gigs, I love it! I've been playing with the movies and haven't even put my music in yet! I did copy my pictures in though, and never noticed I had so many pictures of Stewart.

Yeah an hour on mine's about 500 gigs too, since each movie adds up to about a gig, and is about 2 hours long.
