Global Grooves

Hi Stewart and anyone else who reads this.

Really happy you went diggin through the vaults/ garage/ basement/ hall closet/ under the bed for us!! I've been a big fan for as long as I can remember. Jeez, i remember when you didn't even have one website - now we're blessed with several. Was it sibling rivalry since even Unca Ian has one?

Anyway, what struck me over the head like an anvil dropped off a cliff by a coyote was how Global your music is sounding. I have the Equalizer, Kollected Works, Rumblefish, Oysterhead, etc. etc. but some of this stuff.... it's... very "worldly". I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised since this is one of the triumvirate who gave us Zenyatta Mondatta, but your choice of singers to accompany your music is fantastic. Louis Hansa is my personal favourite. I maybe a bit biased because I did PR for world musicians and labels like Putumayo.

I guess I'm more used to hearing your Dead Like Me soundtrack style rather than the more recent Orchestralli stuff. Really interesting and cool that you're jazzed by that stuff.

Being the Police fan that I am, I'd prefer to hear more... I mean all... of your Derangements. I love the work you put into Can't Stand Losing - you can tell it was handled with care and created with nothing but love. Andy's guitar parts are brilliant too as always. Shame the other lads aren't seeing your vision in releasing it. If it was on ITUNES I'd snap it up in a heartbeat. Not sure how you feel about putting some old live Police stuff up on your official site, but if it's possible - I'd love to hear that too. I won't tell I promise. In fact I didn't hear anything you posted... this message will self destruct in 3... 2.... 1...
