Ahem!

Jose, I know you're an enthusiastic music fan (ALL music) and a great nutter, but...do you think a thread on this particular band is let's say "a propos" on this forum :?: :?:

Just wondering.

that's why I titled the thread with "OT" and read some threads before that someone are requesting about "The Doors" and their 2008 tour... that's all and well what happened here in Peru when some international rock stars came to my country... Imagine you what will be in the case "The Police" would be in Lima  a press coverage similar than "The Beatles" come to Peru... a total fever :D

Please don't misunderstand me, I was well-aware that you posted the subject as OT, and the Doors are undoubtedly a very important and seminal band.

I was referring to their past issues with Stewart and to Ray Manzarek's comments about Stewart's drumming style. Oh well. I guess he has right to his opinions, especially after somebody countersued him....

 What was Manzarek commented about Stewart's drumming style??? Hope he said good positive things... Isn't it?

PS: Also here on the forum were published threads about different bands since "King Crimson" to "Stone Temple Pilots" (not related with The Police) or "The Breeders" (where you replied)

Judge for yourself. Here is what Manzarek said (quoted from E!News):

"Stewart lacked the mystery," Manzarek told Launch.com. "He's not a mysterious, mystical drummer who's willing to just be the support to the melodic flights of Krieger and Manzarek. I mean, we want to float over the top of a good, solid, mystical, mysterious rhythm, and Stewart is very, very busy, and just can't relax into the pocket."

Manzarek and Krieger said they had been taken aback when Copeland took the matter to court.

"It was like, 'Listen, man, you're a great guy, but this is just not working out, so thanks a lot, and let's part friends,'" said Manzarek. "And he said, 'Okay,' and then a week later, 'I'm suing you.' 'Oh. All right. Well, let's not part friends, then.' "

I know! If you read my post carefully, I never told that it's not OK to discuss other people's music on the site, everybody does it (with OT) and it's absolutely fine.

What I found weird is creating a thread on the Doors on Stewart's site. In the opinion of several of Stewart's fans, Manzarek's statements have been, to put it mildly, questionable. It's his opinion, but the general feeling is that he tried to make excuses because he fired Stewart from the group attributing the firing not to Stewart's accident, but to his musical style.

But I see now that you didn't know about what Ray Manzarek said on Stewart's style. So maybe you now will understand why I was surprised.

Uhmm I see... So bad what Manzarek said... something I learnt before was the strongest powerfull of love and since last year the strongest powerfull of grace...in spite of the fact I am not a devoted and practicant of catholism... I totally undertood what Jesus taught to us... Grace and don't hate (well is so hard to understand and put in practice into our human being nature) in this way... Grace Manzareck, because he doesn't know what he said..

8) that's what I tried to say... Amen again

by the way, somebody knows what the problem with the former Doors drummer? I know he doesn't want to Manzarek and Krieger use the name of "The Doors" (to be honest is ok, cause without Jim Morrison and him aren't the original piece up and promoting themselves like The Doors is like to cheat their fans)
