A new Spyro game has been announced and I was wondering if Stewart is doing the music?.

The Legend of Spyro: a new beginning (for multiple platforms ,GBA,DS,PSP,etc).

Cheers.

The question is who is developing the game. When Insomniac developed them (the first three games) they were fantastic. It was when Universal Vivendi took over with the fourth Spyro game that they really started to muck it up (with the exception of Stewart's music, of course, in Enter the Dragonfly). However, from looking at the Wikipedia entry for the Spyro series, the next one looks like it's also going to suck. It's supposed to be a prequel, which smells of lack of originality.

It looks like whoever posted the wikipedia entry about Stewart under the Spyro entry definitely read his posts here where talked about doing the music for the Spyro series.

I got tired of Spyro after the first game. More of a RE 4 man myself. Shame SC doesn't do a ost for that game!

most of stew's tunes are lighthearted and upbeat, but he can do dark just as well. check out the first power for a great example, the main theme is among his very best work. i wouldn't mind seeing him branch out into other games myself. most of the spyro stuff i've heard so far is just plain excellent!

Yeah i agree

I bought Spyro because Stewart did the soundtrack. The game is okay, but for platform games you still can't beat Manic Miner! (Come to think of it.. that had a pretty good 'soundtrack' too!)

The two things that made the first three Spyro games my favourite was the background art and the music. Stewart's music is pure genius. It is so fun to listen to and so original!

The later games are devoid of creativity - it's really sad. Luckily Stewart's music lives on in my mp3 player! Kudos to Stewart forever!

I enjoyed the background art too! It was exciting sort of to be playing a game with such colorful landscapes such as Spyro's and the upbeat playfulness of the music was just a huge added plus beacause it really gets you motivating making you feel the urge to jump around doing cartwheels like a loony kangaroo on a sugar high (Don't let Shiela know I've said that  ). Kudos to Stewart for bringing us to such levels of euphoria through music.
