Look Up!

Look Up!

This standout track from Stewart's new album is a barn-scorcher! It features a rocking wall of guitar noise and plenty of drum fills. Not to mention some lovely vocals from frequent Tricky collaborator Martina Topley-Bird.

This is one of the only tunes on the album that doesn't come from a soundtrack or that hasn't seen previous release. Themed to accompany "Louis" which was previewed on the first Vault page in the last year or two. While Louis didn't quite grab me, this one won't let go.

It seems Stewart has a preference for female vocalists interpreting his work. This seems the fruition of what Animal Logic could have been. Great one!

It's a lovely track. He's used to have high pitched voices singing around him (not necessary female. Bet you remember the great "Natural High"?). Man, Oysterhead must have been a shock!

It doesn't ring any bells that i'm aware of georgy, but i'll give it another listen. He's constantly adapting music from one project to the next, so anything's possible! :)

Natural High
From the album Video Magic
Words and music by Eberhard Schoener

Ooo!
Who needs the sky?
Just watch me fly
I'm on a natural high

We're on a natural high

Who needs the sky?
You can just watch me fly
On a natural high
So you won't turn and sigh
And I feel like I'm 13
[vocals fade and blur]

Layin' on the sky
Feel like I'm sailing through a fire
Like a bird I can fly on a natural high
Letting out a scream
Like I'm sailing through a dream
Like a bird I can fly on a natural high

Caught in the sky
Who can I tie?
Oooo...

Letting out a scream
Like I'm sailing through a dream
Bird I can fly on a natural high
Letting out a scream
Like I'm sailing through a dream
Bird I can fly on a natural high
Eeeeeeoooooaaaaa....

Caught in the sky (caught in the sky)
Who can I tie? (who can I tie?)

Wish I found the music. It is stunning. Maybe my all-time favorite Stingo performance. And the arrangement is fantastic (surely Andy had something to do with it)

Yea, Andy rocked on Natural High too

My favorite from Video Magic was always San Francisco Waitress
That really shows the musical intuative genious heart to me
Sounds improvised & the sort of .......bohemian
To me it seems Eberhardt must have been shocked at what this guy did with his poem. But thats just subjective speculation.

Catching up late to the Anthology party, and just wanted to echo the love for this tune. Somebody put this baby on the radio!
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I really love this song. I can't wait to play it the next time my sister comes around and goes off on one of her Prolestyzing-esque rants. Last week she was poo-poing that guy in Maryland who won part of the mega-millions jackpot and said "Oh my God" when he found out. She preached to my nephew about taking the lord's name in vain. I wished I'd pulled it out then

One of my favoritest songs ever is R.E.M.'s "Undertow." Con, if you don't have it, let me know. It might come in handy.
