My lovely husband has finally come out and said that he doesn't actually like the police (very brave man!!!) however he puts up with me going on and on and on and on....... about them, but does get a little fed up.....

Imagine his surprize yesterday afternoon when he sat with his son to watch a recorded episode of the show Studio 60 on the sunset strip..... only to find Sting in it!!!!

I was sat on the computer at the time and nearly fell of my chair it was so funny just to watch his face as he realised who it was....!!!

After he recovers he switches TV channels and up pops an advert for a new compilation CD coming out featuring songs from the vinyl era... who is first up...... Messgae in a bottle!!!!

He then announces he's going out to buy my wedding anniversary present (3rd today.......)

Today he hands me a present..... the DVD of The Police Every breath you take.... (I had the video but not the DVD.....)

I think he likes them really but just doesn't want to admit it!!!

That's sweet! (and a funny story as well...)

My husband is the same way. I don't think he understands at all why, when this tour was announced, I knew immediately that I had to go, and he certainly doesn't understand how much restraint it took to buy the mid-range seats, instead of the most expensive ones. And then when we got home from the show, and I was talking about going to a SECOND show...that was nearly too much! I ought to introduce him to THIS place, and he'd see just how frugal and reasonable I really am!

I think husbands are just trying to understand your obsession, and accept it for the sake of marriage...
My husband likes the Police OK (but I have the strong suspicion that he likes Sting solo better), and, although work always comes first and unreasonable flight trips/way too pricey tickets are out of the question, he is a music lover.

Nevertheless, he does not understand why it would be worthy to fly to LA to get an autograph. He would have understood if Stew had played a demo in the guitar center. He is very interested in Stew as a musician and a person, in his political views and the contradiction between coming from such a conservative environment and becoming who he is.

I don't either, but this is part of the Stewart Mystique.

Good post! My husband totally doesn't get it, but is thankfully basically supportive of my "addiction". Keeps talking about Sting even though I've told him MANY times that STEWART is the man. I'm currently trying to convince him that we HAVE to go to the Atlantic City show; he can gamble, I can get an ear/eyeful, and he can finally see what all the fuss is about (he hasn't been to any of the concerts so far-- I've gone with equally ga ga girlfriends). :)

Yeah, my husband is pulling his hair out at times. He does get a little frustrated because I am on SC.net too much. (Then again he spends too much time on facebook). I have to give him credit though, he did take me to the concert and he loved it (not as much as I did) and he did get me the new Police CD for my birthday. Even my kids start to see Stewart everywhere. Twice they pointed out Stewart. Once at the beach, there was a guy with grey hair and goggles (looked like a headband). The second time they spotted a horse on a police car!

yeah, my husband falls under the "I don't get it, but it obviously makes you happy, therefore I'm happy" banner. He DID, however, get a glimpse of what I refer to when he attended the Giants Stadium show! He was literally blown away - couldn't believe that much music came from just 3 people!
I had a little moment of pride then!

Happy Anniversary Kimmy! Hope you guys enjoyed the day!!!

My husband is the same way too he knew that the Police were a part of me before we married he's accepted that, just like I've excepted Cher  He knew when the Police announced there tour That I would be going and at the most expensive tickets, he just knew. I asked him if he wanted to go and he say's "I have no intentions of see them but I'm not stopping you" Good thing too I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of my husband yelling like a teenager

Cher?! LOL, thank god my hubby likes Aerosmith! He does like the Police but would never admit it. He says he works to support my addiction. We have gone to Vegas - me to see Sting, him to gamble. We are doing the same for the Atlantic City show. He thought I was nuts to want to go to all the shows I could, but he knows better than to get between me and my guys. I loved the Police first! He actually bought me a Sting signed lithograph for our anniversary once. I thought he was nuts. Even I didn't want to pay $180 for a signed poster, but his attitude was that at least it was collectible. He REALLY didn't understand when I recently bought a "Support THE POLICE" bumper sticker off ebay. I've wanted one for 20 years! God, I'm old, lol! Now he's giving me the guilt trip about going to the Halloween show at MSG instead of trick or treating with the kids. Today he actually said "Mommy loves Sting more than you, so she's going to the concert instead of spending Halloween with us" to my daughter. Nice. She started bawling and crying "But Halloween is the best holiday..." Real nice. I feel like a crud. But I'm still going. :-P
