Over on Ask Uncle Ian, a poster states that he knows on good authority that a soundboard recording exists for the Denver show.

Fact ot fiction?

Actually, it's been interesting to me how blase TPTB have been about open sharing of '07 (and earlier) concert recordings on the official tpt.com website...

I don't have a problem "encouraging" it so long as no one's making money off the endeavor. If no one will give us official versions of what we want, we're not taking money away from anyone. In fact, I know some folks who went out and bought tour tickets they were hesitant to spend on until they'd heard some bootlegs of the '07 shows so far...

But that's just my 2 cents.

Yeah. Plus, Stewart has been unbelievably generous about letting us do whatever we want with copyrighted material all over SC.net...

But then, I think he realizes we're all junkies who've bought every possible commercial release of his, sometimes in multiple formats...

that's right. we're not depriving the artist of income. end of discussion, really. if the label wants to moan, then they should pull their collective heads out of their collective butts and give us something apart from yet another greatest hits package. police around the world, frejus 1980, jesus, there is so much out there and the label have released nothing new at all yet. pathetic.

anyway, yeah man, more info on this denver SBD recording. maybe craig knows something about it?

Remember this news release?

01.03.07 30th Anniversary of the First Police Single - Official News
As numerous rumors have started circulating regarding plans for a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Police single, the following is an official statement released on behalf of the band by a spokesperson at Interscope Geffen A&M Records:

"As the 30th anniversary of the first Police single approaches, discussions have been underway as to how this will be commemorated. While we can confirm that there will indeed be something special done to mark the occasion, the depth of the band's involvement still remains undetermined."

....and now we see that, to date, the only real involvement in the 30th anniversary has been FROM THE BAND. Thanks for nothing so far Interscope Geffen A&M Records....

Egad, I hope not. Pardon the pun, but that would be a complete cop-out.

We want new stuff! There's plenty of quality material they could release.

If that's the labels idea of celebrating a 30th anniversary, then they are *definitely* the party poopers at this little get together....

Seriously!

What is the latest one, like the FIFTH "hits" package that's been put out?

1. The Police: Greatest Hits
2. Every Breath You Take: The Classics
3. The Very Best of... Sting & the Police
4. Message In A Box (yeah this isn't a selected "best of", but I think of it that way... )
5. The Police: Anthology aka The Abridged Box Set (the recent 2CD release)

I mean, come ON!

I know, Sockii. We would not do it, but this is a public site. There are already people selling concerts from this tour. Not giving out, selling.
