Anything? Release date?

I'd ask about the Rhythmatist but a search brought up more info on that then
PATW here...

But if anyone could point me in the direction of a DVD of "The Rhythmatist (being that it isn't going to be released anytime soon) then by all means beat my guest...

Please and Thanks.

Shelved... dammmmmmnnnnn... what a bunch o' prick teases. Makes me even more glad I managed to find an LD rip a while back.

I would give my vote afa the best concert vid on those terms to the Rockpalast video in 80 I have seen (well, one out of two - can't remember which one tho) but still, I only have a handful of these things, so I am not the best judge.

Thanks for the info.

Didn't I hear that some venues were selling copies?? Albeit without official packaging but still...I didn't see them at Fenway, yet again I wasn't really looking for them.

My VHS copy is barely watchable. Can't wait until it comes out on DVD.

frejus?

isn't that the gig shown on 'Around The World' where gordo gets hit by mud / turd and kicks off? "ya bastard, fuck, i'm gonna kill you" etc.
after the poop has caught gordo on the left shoulder he turns to his band for some support; andy is looking the other way and stewart is hiding behind his cymbals with his eyes shut and chin pointing downstage..... hilarious.....

i managed to burn my ATW vid onto dvd, and while i'm willing to share, i'm too much of a luddite to make it happen, one day i'll get my internet fixed at home (avoid talktalk; they are a bunch of asshats).....

Isn't Frejus the show where Ugh! A Music War is taken from? I've always wanted to see the whole set. The two and half tracks in the movie are so good I've always wanted more.

One of my best friends works at Universal Music in the licensing department. I can ask him if he's heard anything about future Police releases included Around the World on DVD. I have a feeling that Universal would love to release anything Police, it's an obvious money maker for them, if they own the masters. If they don't they would have to do maybe a licensing deal which probably would make them money. In any case I think a release depends on approval from all three members before doing a release. Perhaps a certain lead singer could be holding it up? I'm just guessing here and expressing my opnion.
I think TheEqualizer is right, Frejus is the show where Ugh! A Music War is taken.
In the meantime, there I have seen pieces of it on YouTube of ATW.

IRS has the publishing rights to "Around The World"...so Miles might be upset that he was not included in the reunion and refuse to let it out? Which would suck!!!!

I recently got the collection of REM from the IRS years. It was released on Capitol Records. I believe they own the entire catalog of IRS now. So it may be up to them to release ATW??

Well I had put my project of encoding my laserdisc of this to DVD on the back burner, since the rumors talked about it being released this year. But here we are in August, and no date announced yet, so I'm thinking that I might go ahead and start the ball rolling if I can fit it in my computer budget ;)

Looking forward to whatever previously unreleased material comes out on DVD.

Frejus would be cool.

Shame about Around the World, but to be honest, it doesn't quite cut it in 2007 does it? It would be one for the fans and nostaligia buffs. Shite.. thats us isnt it???

[quote]The good news is, is that Truth Hits Everybody has been recorded in the studio on the 18th June in NY, and will be released later in the year. There is alot planned release wise, so watch this space. Anything unreleased i will try to get released through Universal, from my master tapes and what universal ''might'' have and of course from Stewart and Miles' archive.

What what what???!!!!!

Um, did you just say what I think you said????

WAHOOOOOOOO!!!!

(What else is coming out with 'Truth'? Is it a single only? They already did a compilation, so they probably won't do another one with only one or two new tracks...right?!)
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

Wouldn't it have been awfully tough to record in NY on June 18th when they were playing in Phoenix that night?

(Not that I don't want to be optimistic, but my cautiousness can't help but ask the question.)
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Wow, that's some excellent news, particularly about the studio recording of "Truth .. " Any more details on this? Will this be a single? Is it similar to the current live version? Was a B-side recorded?

Such a great time to be a Police fan. 8)
