Everyone Stares DVD - Question

Postby Popcorn Blizzard on 28 Jul 2007 19:46

Thursday was my birthday and one of my gifts was the Everone Stares DVD. I'm not sure, but I think my copy might be defective. During the program when there's a lot of movement, the image gets slightly distorted with these horizontal lines. There are also a few times when text runs across the screen, and I can barely read what it says. The DVD extras don't have this problem (those are crystal clear); it's just the main program. Anyone else notice this on their DVD?

Aside from this issue, I really like Stewart's film: seeing the Police checking into these sad low-budget motels of the 70s, watching Sting surprise a female fan with a full kiss on the mouth, laughing as Sting beats the crap out of Andy on a train. I was made to feel a member of their inner circle, experiencing the Police phenomenon as they did. 8)

Maybe try cleaning the disc. Sometimes just fingerprints cause strange problems.

I think it's your player. Some of the footage is old and not so sharp, but nothing like you are describing.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Yeah, I tried the DVD out in my PC and the program plays fine there, so the issue must be with our living room unit.
