Any sc netter from out there want to meet up for lunch?

I am staying at a friend's in Glendale, CA and attending the drum corps world championship event at the Rose Bowl Aug 9-11th. I figured maybe, if the timing is right we could meet up somewhere for a bite and a beverage somewhere. I should have a car there.

Either lunch, or late night out somewhere (in a safe area please!).

Let me know what you think!

CP! Does that mean you are leaving the day of the 11th?? Cause this is dada-related AGAIN. Mike Gurley, guitar master of dada and Phil Leavitt, drum master of dada, have a side project called Butterfly Jones and they are playing at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go August 11th!!

CP, can you swing down to the Backstage? Maybe I can wrangle some SC.netters to meet you there!

Bella, what time is the gig at whiskey? Can you get us on some type of list so we can at least get in if we are late (we can still pay of course).

Where's the backstage? That sounds like fun but what night?

hey CP -

the backstage is in beverly hills. not exactly close to glendale/pasadena but sorta central. if you're doing any sight-seeing, you'll probably pass close by.

if you're doing sight-seeing during the day, we can always meet for lunch on friday or saturday.

i wonder if mtobinjones will be around then....

I've got a good friend in Tarzana I need to visit for lunch one day and we will probably scoot around a little on Thursday and Friday. Email me your phone number and I will call if I am coming down there. Sound good? What's the best day/night to gather scnetter's up?

"Beverly Hills... that's where I want to be..."

There are some great photos of the interior of the Backstage Cafe from a recent blog related to the Phil Spector trial: http://laist.com/2007/07/17/phil_spector_tr.php

If you love 80's music, especially the IRS artists, then you'll love this place as it's loaded with lots memorabilia (and of course of the Police stuff that's there as well.

I highly recommend the Bison burger there as it's one of the best I've ever had and the Backstage Cafe sauce goes great with the french fries!

What's even funnier is that I think someone introduced Punkin Pie to me and sockii last year when we were visiting the Backstage Cafe the night before we saw the LA premiere of Everyone Stares at the Arclight Cinema. It's all a haze though and the only thing I remember was that she was wearing outlandish clothes and had a bunch of people at her table, so I'm almost sure it was her.
