Shall we try to tailgate? I'm still kinda paranoid about the parking situation but I'm sure we will survive.
It would suck if we all got stuck in separate parking lots though.

Please explain, why do you guys , in this age of global warming and energy saving, need to take the car to Giants Stadium? Even if you live a long way away, wouldn't it be easier to leave your car near a bus or metro station and use public transport to get there, then leave ?
Went to a gig outside of Paris the other day. 50000 people left the stadium together...the public transport was so well orgaised, it took only 10 mins to get on a metro...but then that's Europe.

Giants Stadium is in the middle of nowhere. It's not like MSG, the Philly Sports complex, or other metro arenas with easy public transit. There's one bus that serves it from NYC, but it's a 45 minute ride with hours-long waits afterwards, from what I've read, to get out of there. It's just not a system equipped to deal with transporting people to the stadium on a large scale.
Believe me, I'm a city girl with no car who uses public transportation (or my feet) every day. But this is one location where it's just not practical for a lot of people.

What Sockii said is so true. We took the bus to the Live Earth concert and it was a 90-minute wait for a bus to get back to New York. On a Sunday night, when the Police are playing, that's not practical for a lot of people who have to go to work the next morning. I am going to the Giants Stadium concert with a friend who lives in NJ so I will be going to his house first and then we'll take his car. I hate to say it but I am really glad that's how we're handling it.
The baseball stadiums in NYC (ahem..including Shea) would have been an easier choice for many, with several train and commuter rail lines running nearby.

Yeah, I took the shuttle bus from Secaucus Junction for Live Earth, but they only had it for that one concert. The wait getting home was horrific, of course -- but so would getting out of the parking lot have been.
I honestly wish I could take public to Giants for the Police show because even with the Long Wait Home it was low-stress and pretty easy. But without that shuttle bus, I'd have to bus/train from NJ into NYC for an hour, wait at Port Authority, then get on a bus BACK to NJ. Um, no.
Hopefully some day they'll set up a bus or train to Giants, but so far, nada.
Kim, I think Donna might have some tailgating plans, but I'm not sure. If I come across the info later, I'll post it.

I am taking my SUV. Global warming does not exist.
