The one thing that NO ONE can claim is that this tour isn't an incredible financial success, and I'm really happy for our guys as a result.
I mean, who deserves it more: the Police or the latest pop tart to go on tour? It's a good sign for the world that people are willing to part with their cash to see/hear actual high-quality music. It makes me so proud! (sniff, sob)

As opposed to gerbil history?

Yes, for these numbers have been thrice exceeded in the gerbil kingdom...

I just thought she was dead-on with that.....Who else (human) has even approximated this feat? But no, I'll have to wait until the gerbil numbers get posted......

Yeah it make me chill too. Don't you think is magic, magic, magic...
And thank you for your support neonhunter, we have to make a research to prove my hypotesis that this experience never been done in human history with many sold out gigs.
At least Beatles never did a world tour like The Police, and our lovely trio are doing it twice in just one life...
Incredible but true and is happening right now!
More incredible is that we Stewart's fans are talking about our impressions of it on this forum.

Hey Georgy, check your facts: The Beatles toured the world six times over Sea of Japan to the Cliffs of Dovah, and had a horrible time in the Philippines!
They retired from the live shows in 1966 because people were so loud nobody could hear anything and they were tired of the hysteria. Last concert they played was here in Candlestick Park.
No doubt that the Tour has made so much money. This is why they should add Just One More Date in the West....[self-serving, I know]

The Beatles didn't come back 23 years later and do it again.

Must I remind you that there are only 2 Beatles left, neon....?

No need to remind me. I was there the first time around. I'm ancient. Still, I do believe that it's not an overstatement to say that what the Police have achieved with this tour has never been duplicated in human history. I just like the way that sounds. And re: the Beatles---I really miss John and George in my heart of hearts......

Sadly, I toured for 3.5 years straight for a band that raked in the coin- in tix and merch. Are these numbers merchandise inclusive?
cause that is a LOT of coin as well
There is no way to compare- times have changed, inflation, ticket prices, and cost of logistics. The touring industry is ever evolving and it costs a lot more to put a show together.
There is no doubt this will go down as one of the most fiscally successful tours of all time.
But you can't compare a van tour in 66 to one where the artists all show up in separate private jets.
it's not apples to apples- it's not even fruit to fruit.
And I agree (GASP!) with daweasel- would rather see people pay coin to see real music than blow their cash on seeing people lipsynching to tracks!
and yet still, fuck daweasel.

Psssshaw. You agree with everything I say. But only because I'm always right.
