Cosmic Tetris

Awesome new videos posted on www.thepolice.com one of which shows some of the opening night gig in Vancouver, and the other one shows how the stage setup is constructed, as explained by Charlie Hernandez the Tour Production Director, it's like a Cosmic Tetris. Brilliant description! ....and amazing time-lapse photography as well! 6 semi-trucks for fuck's sake!!

i wish i could watch it, but i have not given in to the $100 fee for the membership. it's sort of a hard headed thing of mine. i think it's fucked up that fans can't enjoy the site free when we pay a shitload of cash for programs, t-shirts, tickets, hats, drinks at venues, plane tickets, etc...

love the guys, but i hate the machine.

The main reasons I ended up signing up for the fanclub were:

1. Chances for good prizes. Some of my friends who have had Sting.com memberships for a while in the past told me that eventually, you most likely WILL win something good that'll make it worth your while and

2. I wanted at least some chance of being able to get a block of 4 tickets together for a local show, for me and my friends, which I was able to do last night for Philly.

Now, I'd bitch a bit about the fact that for so-called "fanclub seats" they were really kind of shitty--at almost a 90 degree angle to the stage where you could only see the side jumbotron, while my friend who had Best Buy tickets in the same section was 20 rows in front of me and a much better view. But it was good to know I could at least get SOME kind of block of 4 together whereas otherwise it's so darn hard even to get 2 decent tickets together...

i see your point about the block of seats. i was wondering why it was that when i entered "4" into the ticket request, it was never available. i resorted to getting all single seats. it doesn't matter either way to me... i don't care about sitting together - i'm in my own world at concerts - especially this one. but like last night with my mother, it was nice to be together.

They really should've reversed the priority and given fan club members 1st crack and better sections...and yes, I was able to get 3 tix together for my friends and I in the 1st row of the $90 seats section....it was the 1st row of the nose-bleeds, but still. I just didn't have enough bank to do over $200/pop.

I don't normally care about sitting together all that much either, but I knew I'd have my mom with me last night, and I hate leaving her to fend for herself (actually, she's a tough cookie, but it doesn't feel right to me, ya know).
