Sting gets much love (doesn't he?)........

A lot gets made around here about Sting and his lute, and it's always funny, and it's REALLY funny when Stewart checks Sting (as he did onstage at Dodger Stadium about the "Let me introduce the band" schtick), but I tell ya that guy is a warrior, down and dirty and in the trenches when it's time to grind it out. I bought a bootleg cassette in London once (I destroyed it, of course, heh, heh) of the Police in Sting's home town of Newcastle. They'd just returned from their ground-breaking 1980 world tour, and Sting's voice was GONE. I don't mean hoarse, I mean gone. Nevertheless, he delivered the set at maximum intensity, constantly exhorting the crowd along the way. It was beyond impressive. He's a man for all seasons: He'll play the lute, and kick your ass! P.S.--Don't buy bootlegs!

I'm an all around Police fan (throw a little bit of a Berlin fan as well) But its too easy to make fun of the man :D When He started doing country songs I stopped defending him and joined in.
Seeing that I am on Stewart's fan site I really can't say that he's a brilliant song writer and singer :D

Dear Scnetters that go both ways,

Please do not take offense, I understand and respect your love, but seriously, this is Stewart's board and I know for a fact that Sting gets PUH-LENTY of love worldwide!

He gets his share definitely. I'm thinking he's not stopping by stew's board -or even his own since he "does.not.chat." - to make sure we'e giving him love here too.

enormous ego gets fed elsewhere. just here to make sure our humble yet lovable shoeshine boy gets his fair share.
If that makes me a bad person, spank me. I'm naughty!

It is not an acronym, it's like the fascists called Mussolini in Italy in the 20s and 30s when he was in power....it means "The Leader", and its German translation (and version) is "Der Fuhrer" (Dietmar back me up on this one).

Sting is great! An amazing pop songwriter, a great performer, an outstanding frontman. I just think he has so many other places than here to get his accolades and various worship.

Out here we is Stew... immaculate.

Nice Doors call-back, Jeff......This is all in fun, of course. Sting, I'm sure, doesn't lack for affection on this planet.

Sting, Sting ... Sting .. ? Heard that name before ... isn't he the bass player in Stewart Copeland's band ... ?

Country Songs? I like them but they always make me want to milk a cow.

STEWART says "STING's my guy" !

He's riddled with talent, he's kinda freaks me out. Even songs of his I don't really take to...are great.

I stumbled onto the TV show about his Lute songs. It was amazing...I would love to hear him talk more just about songs and writing. The Lute album is excellent.

I have joked about him but it is always with MUCH respect.

Nothing is wrong with country songs...nothing is wrong with ANY music as long as YOU enjoy it. Stings country song was great I thought...the video is what I thought was weird.

Louis Armstrong said it best: there's two kinds of music, good and bad. If it's good ? ya don't worry about what it is!"

I don't know how Stingo can sing like that on a tour so long....pretty amazing. It's pretty easy for people to put him down...I'm sure he just goes and jams with his buddies...and writes another hit.

Good on ya Stingo !

Glad to have ya back !
