Acoustic gigs can be kinda boring for a drummer like Stewart, but if Dave Grohl pulled it off so well, so can he.
Stu hates jazz drumming so I don't see him doing the Gene Krupa thing with brushes.
Also, I would love to see him play other instruments!

Isn't it just acoustic type instruments?
bass,guitar, drums.
there ya go...just like Dylan, Clapton etc.
Everything is practically the same...mostly just the acoustic guitar.
It'll be great.
Cheers.

You mean double bass or acoustic bass, Bongo. You're not supposed to have amps up there (although it happened sometimes on the MTV series).
We might see Brian pop up again!

[quote="neonhunter"] These fellas could make paint buckets and kazoos sound good. Maybe Stewart will play a "cocktail drum"--sort of a conga with kick drum pedal attached. And Sting---I heard him play "Roxanne" on just an acoustic guitar to a packed stadium: You could have heard a pin drop. I hope it's on. I treasure every chance I get to see the lads play together!

Or a kid's drum kit. Maybe one with Animal on the front. It makes a much quieter sound. Of course Stewart would break it entirely in a few seconds so they'd need to maybe outfit it with super strong heads.

Stewart can play bass? Cool, never knew that.
I'm not all that excited about the acoustic show, never really cared for unplugged.

Most all the ones I have seen have had electric bass....
...the thing is.....THE PA ! THE TV ! THE MICS !
The whole Fucking thing is PLUGGED IN !
...now if it were outside around a campfire....THAT would be un-plugged.
Anyway, the shows have been pretty good so I don't care what they do...as long as they do it !
I would like to see one song where all three are on acoustic guitars...heh,heh.

I think an accousic set would be incredible. They have each mentioned in interviews that the accoustic music they made in the evenings at the "magic stingdom" showed their old creative spark. It would be different to see Stewart playing bass as they described him doing in those jams. If they are planning to perform unplugged, I wonder if Stewart is considering playing the cajon (peruvian wood box instrument that used in Flamenco music). He is great on that instrument and it would fit well in that context. Whether they play unplugged or not, I hope they got some recordings of the acoustic music they did make. It sounded like those times and the music meant alot to them.

All the more recorded material we get out of these guys while they're together, the better IMO. I would imagine you all would be thinking that if they were to go on another 23 year hiatus....and bring on BRIAN!!

So according to most of you
Andy will play an acoustic Guitar
Sting and electric bass/or Brian
Stew on his drums or Perc or Guitar
And of course they'll play "Bring on the Night" right ? I'm mean, if Andy's got an acoustic guitar in his hands, I acn't see him not FORCING the other two to play it....
What if they did a cover version ?

I did read that Gordon and Andy are playing acoustic guitars with Stewart on bass.
