Do you suppose they all wound up in the slammer? Cause I can't think of any other reason there'd be no posts by 8 hours post-show...;)

(and here I got up extra early so I could check before my flight...luckily the airport will most likely have wifi.

Sigh. Such a junkie. I'll probably start seeing bugs coming out of the walls next week while I'm away from my Net connection...)

From the reports on tpt.com, it sounds pretty awesome!

Apparently they did a tag of "Dead End Job" at the end of "Next to You"!!!

 :!: :!: :!:

(BTW Dive, before you're off - got your package yesterday THANK YOU!)

I'd love to hear a review, but am a little worried. Has anybody heard anything from GSC, DirtyMartini, NancyRose, SamburuSunset or anybody else making the trek to Cleveland? I'm starting to get the whole Mom complex ("Why haven't you called? Where are you? Are you all right? I was worried something terrible had happened to you..."). :?

I know that Gina and DM had long LONG greyhound rides home so they are probably just sleeping it away. Could someone maybe text one of them to give us a thumbs up/AOK? Dive? Sockii? Conroy?

Hi all,
Haven't had internet access during the stay and am currently parked in Panera drinking my coffee slowly as to not appear overtly loitering as I am <grin>

All is good here: DirtyMartini is safely on her bus home, I walked Samburu Sunset to her airport shuttle and she should be taking off shortly, Nancy was to be heading home first thing this morning, and I will be kicking around Cleveland today, seeing Gogol Bordello at the House of Blues tonight, and taking a 4 am bus home afterwards heh, better spring for a second coffee after all!

I will post more but I just wanted to make sure everyone knows we're a-ok, if not f-in mentally and physically obliterated, haha.

Yes, they played a few measures of Dead End job and I panic'd when I heard the bass line after Stewart did the count off at the end of Next to you, but when Sting sanf "I don't want no" tears started shooting out, for the first time on this tour. I mean, after 8 shows, I thought that I would always be delighted, totally entranced, etc. but I didn't think I could be surprised, let alone shocked out of my mind! But I was wrong, I was completely blown away by even this fragment of that song...I texted Kellie, who had long been rendered inapable of texting more than single word messages since before the show, "Did they just...umm? /cries"

More when I can...

EDIT: DirtyMartini texted from the bus to send her love to you all & also a THANK YOU, STEWART!

It's true...Cleveland Bloody Rocks!!

I just returned home, and while I know the plane descended, I am still in the clouds! It was a fabulous evening, one that can best be summed up by Stewart, pumping his fists in the air and loudly exclaiming "The Best Birthday Ever!!" Frankly, that would have been good enough for me...just knowing the night made him so happy! Truth is, you had to be made of stone to not leave the Quicken Arena feeling pretty damn happy yourself! They were awesome!

The last show I'd seen was in Phoenix, nearly one month ago. I thought they were much improved since Vancouver, but my God, last night they were on fire! There was incredible energy to their performance, and a playfulness I hadn't seen in previous shows. Stewart's band put on one hellluva birthday bash, and we helped it along, hanging banners and distributing signs, noisemakers and party hats throughout the floor sections! We didn't get to sing an entire "Happy Birthday," 'though Sting did lead us in an abbreviated version during "So Lonely" (right after "welcome to the Stewart Copeland show").

The flag got major, extended props last night, from the start of the show right up to a finish that left some of us "driven to tears" and speechless...but I'm saving that for Dirty Martini to share since it was the first time she's had the flag since it set off on its "world tour!!"

The inclusion of "Dead End Job," as previously noted, was a shocker...most of us turning to the person next to us seeking confirmation that our ears were not playing tricks on us! Nope, it was really there! (Conroy, please pass those Depends!!)

If I had been at this show alone, I would have enjoyed it...but it was most definitely an EVENT because I got to share it with Kellie, Gina, Amy, Maggie, Kevin, and Donna. Even into the wee hours of the morning on a deserted Cleveland street corner, it felt like there was always more to say (albeit somewhat incoherently!). It can't be said too often that the friendships growing out of this tour are a real gift...thank you Stewart, Andy and Sting.

Oh, and I can't forget NiNa!! She and her friend, Meaghan, met us at the Hard Rock and she was proudly sporting the tube socks Conroy sent her with pair of cowboy boots. We met up again after the show...she was blown away! I think we can expect to see her here soon!!

Well, that's all I've got in me right now...photos and more random thoughts to follow, I'm sure!

Stewart Copeland.Net Jet-Setters !

This whole thing could have been a reality show following the flag...where is Stewarts filming off-spring ? He could have done a Doc about it.

Glad you dudettes are having a blast.

My journey starts Sunday....but when did it begin?

Dietmar would know, The Police picnic in Toronto Canada, Exhibition stadium, bands I can remember were: James Brown, Peter Tosh,Blue Peter,Joan Jett,King Sunny Ade....who else...?

Oh Awesome Nancy. I wanted to go sooo bad. What with it being Stewart's Birthday, the police marathon on Sting, and you guys giving NiNa a ticket and then the whole floor seats for under a hundy thing...To top it off the reviews I've read in the local press have been positive too.

Sounds like a wonderful night. I'm jealous but in a good way. You guys have earned it.

Cleveland does indeed rock.
