Giants' Stadium on August 5

Is anyone else out there stressing about the parking situation? They are building a new stadium for the Giants and Jets. I have first hand accounts about how bad it was for Live Earth. Shuttle busses to parking lots that are far away.
Does anyone who lives in Jersey know what shuttle parking lot we should go to? If we all end up at different lots we can't tailgate together before the gig. Are the lots well marked? Will we have to pay a fortune to park? Is the stadium parking lot available at all? My husband hates traffic. I can hear him yelling now....
The Giants' Stadium site says the parking lots open at 3:30. I think we will be there at 3:25!
I wonder if it is sold out? If it is, it could be ugly...

Honestly, no idea, Kim. I do believe the show is sold out. For parking prices and stuff, you'd have to check out the Giants/Meadowlands site.
The parking sitch is especially bad because of the new construction, but you know what? Getting out of concerts always sucks. That's not news.
I'm hoping they'll do shuttles from Port Authority and Secaucus like they did for Live Earth, but I honestly don't know if that was just for the one concert. Getting the shuttle busses afterwards sucks -- but that's because 50,000 are all trying to get to the same places.
You just have to expect it to suck and take it in stride. It also helps if you just hang out for a while after the show and let the masses fight it out for the first rush. It's not like you've got to be somewhere at midnight anyway, so there's really not much point pushing and shoving in the herds. It doesn't make it go any faster. It just kills the after-show buzz.
Traffic will happen guaranteed. No point in stressing over it. Tell hubby he's either going to have to get over it or stay home.

Yeah, we are Jets season ticket holders so we know all about it. It's already bad, but this will be way worse. I can't ditch him, he's my driver! When he goes to a 1:00 Jet game he gets there at 10:00 to tailgate and is one of the last to leave because he'd rather have another hot dog and sit and relax, than deal with the traffic. He starts to leave an hour after the game ends. I'm expecting it to be ugly. I was just wondering if we get shut out of the lot altogether, which shuttle lot would be best. We will be bringing our 9 year old to her first "real" concert, so we'd like to try not to scar her for life, you know?

Oh! In that case, Kim, it sounds like hub is already a seasoned professional. I take it all back.
As to which parking lot, though, you got me. Sorry.

Just checked Ticketmaster. Tickets ARE available. When I checked, you are still able to get seats that are together as well, not just singles. However, I did not check which price levels were available. When I checked, I just looked for "best available."

Checked again. No $50 seats (even singles) but you don't want these anyways at Giants Stadium. There are $90 seats, singles and together.

Yeah, vespapod and I would love some parking advice as we'll be driving up from Philly for the show, and I haven't been to Giants stadium since 1987 for a Pink Floyd concert!

Pink Floyd??
- is right! Now *there's* a band that can't get along....maybe the press should do *another* story about that?!
