i am trying to convert an avi file to some format that will upload on youtube and i'm going nuts!

i really don't want to buy software & i can't figure this out. i am soooo out of date with this stuff.

i'm trying to upload the live earth footage of me yelling at kanye west during message. i've tried to email it to someone who can shrink it, but the file is just too big.

suggestions?

I've posted avi files there before. What OS are you using?

Oh, I forgot to ask what is the size of the file? Can you sent it to me via yousendit.com? I could probably get it to work. what kind of camera did you use?

Yeah, I think that size is still too big for youtube. I think it has to be less than 100 mb if I'm not mistaken and less than 9 minutes I think.

so i guess there is nothing i can do short of transferring it to a disc and taking it to someone with a program and then having them shrink it?

it's not really that big of a deal anymore... that just sucks that i can't do it.
