WHAT?!?!? Sting is replacing Stewart and Andy with Kanye West and George Bush to perform "Dream of the Blue Turtles" material on lute (with sampled background vocals, while wearing short shorts and knee socks) for the remainder of the tour?!?!?! Wow!

Sounds awesome! George I'm sure can handle the synth foot pedals, and I hope they throw in a horn section as well! Lute & horns, that would really be an innovative new direction!

Would that it were so. The much more mundane reality is that I put a post in the wrong thread and then couldn't delete it...

But keep 'em up! Jeff, you say Oysterhead is playing in your yard the 10th of August, and we're all invited??

It's great to see a thread about nothing turn into something...

What's that? The other members of Oysterhead are joining up with The Police and they are re- arranging the songs to accommodate for double bass and double guitar?

And they need a fairly average british cellist to jam with them?
Well, I guess I'll see if I can find a window in my schedule.

"Fairly Average British Cellist" sounds like the name of a 20-something garage band.

What? It does.

Jeff Trivia: I was a cellist as well. I was fairly average, but not at all British.

Hehe, just chalk it up to the typhoid meds <grin>

And, ya, that was my dream for Bonnaroo...I remember saying that they have already played with 2 guitarists and 2 basists at different times so it'd be perfect...but just think about it: Les and Sting, Trey and Andy...it's brilliant, truly brilliant...now we just gotta make it happen...poor Stewart, though, with worlds colliding and all <grin>

The name, though, is almost as brilliant!
