Multiple Issues

Multiple Issues

Instead of writing a bunch of small posts, I will post a multiple part post and feel free to comment on any that fits your fancy:

1. Why have they stopped playing Spirits in the Material World? There has been some criticism of the way they have been playing it, but not much. Seems odd for them to have dropped such a popular song.

2. Which Police tour do you think had Stewart's best playing? I'm think that it is this current tour. The early tours had some great youthful exhuberance but I think that he has gotten better technically and has so much more to draw from now. I must admit that I do not recall hearing anything from the Zenyatta tour, but I think his playing on the Ghost tour was reflective of the miserable time he had recording the album (though it was still really good).

3. What is your favorite "little moment" from this tour? Many of mine are Andy moments, like the new beginning to Synch II (much better than the way they started it on the Synch tour), Andy's new guitar part on ELTSDIM, the begining guitar part on Invisible Sun, and the extended solos on Driven to Tears. However, my #1s (1a and 1b) have to be the extended fills on Message and the gong to start the show.

Little moment: The entirety of CSLY, Bed's and Truth. That enough for you? :)

Oh, and Stewart's drumstick and mallet twirls. Love 'em!

It's the lil things:

Oh I love the drumstick flourishes. And the Octobahn in the intro to Don't Stand...best thing about the song live, imho.

Sting's crazy froglegs dance on top of a stack of Amps.

Andy's wall of sound in Can't Stand...that sounded so awesome in St. Paul.
Thanks to Sockii (you rockii) for awesome Avatar photo!
