THE POLICE Live Earth DVD

THE POLICE Live Earth DVD

Postby Dietmar on 08 Jul 2007 16:15

I've recorded the POLICE gig from Germany's TV channel n24. Quality is OK, but I'm always searching for something better. They always had some text running at the bottom of the picture - that's not too bad. Some of Sting's words between songs were dubbed in German, but they didn't do this during any of the songs.

The picture ratio was 4:3, but another German channel showed stuff with a 16:9 ratio.

Now there's a DVD recording on dimeadozen for download which was recorded from US TV channel BRAVO.

Does anyone know how they broadcast the POLICE's gig? I would love to see a copy without the text at the bottom or in 16:9 with great picture quality. Did they ruin any song with ads or talking or something like that...? need details...

thanks

I've got a really good, really clear version with no text or crap in it recorded directly off the Live Earth feed, but I'm not sure how to get it off my high-def Tivo (they've disabled multi room viewing.) I'm going to try to attach an external hard drive to the thing. Will keep you posted.

I didn't see any of our boys interviewed, though.

Hopefully the BBC will show the gig again on their digital catch up service over the next week - you might be able to get a good recording from that.

(they are reshowing the diana concert this week - so why not live earth too?)

I recorded the Bravo one too on our DVR but Comcast has it locked from pulling it off the machine :( It would be worth buying if it's the HD feed- my only issue with it is they cut to commercial halfway thru.

Sting and Trudie were interviewed on NBC about their environmental work in South America, that's the only interview I saw. Trudie spoke about the atrocious conditions in Ecuador as a result of the oil industry there. Seems like Sting's voice needs a rest too...

I've downloaded the Bravo broadcast from Dime. I'm currently uploading it to Gigasize. It's a 1GB DVD, so it'll take a few hours...

I'm in the process of reuploading it, since I had a connection problem during my first attempt. It'll take a few more hours. Sorry!
