ok, me and sockii are sitting here in dallas watching live earth at the bar in the hotel. The boys were good but what the hell was that with "Message".

Keep them by themselves!!!!! three only please. I'm a purist.

PS from sockii: Happy wedding day to Rhonda & Jimmy! (Our Dallas crew
know who I'm talking about!) I'd have more to say on the performance but I will refrain until I recover from bridesmaid duty today (and 4 bourbon & cokes...)

Sting's voice is in trouble.
I've heard this on the latest live recordings, but I thought he could manage a few songs this night.
He couldn't ...
I'm fearing he'll visiting throat specialists soon instead of playing concerts...

the 2nd guitar in Message was nice
but Kanye West ? he nearly destroyed that song!

I thought Sting's voice was cracking a bit, too...and we were only listening on the computer feed so we only half-heard the set. Other than that they sounded tight - Stewart sounded great and Andy was off in his own world playing beautifully as usually...

(PS: getting more plastered by the second helping the bartender clear out the nearly empty bottles....   (

IMO Sting really should lay off those synth pedals save for the occasional low sub-bass note... good thing he's not doing that at any of the shows on their tour (yet?).

At least John Mayer remembered that MIAB harmony guitar part in the 2nd verse... he looked and sounded pretty good up there.

Kanye ruined the song in my opinion. I was REALLY wanting him to put the mic down and walk away. Please put it down... and... walk... away. I really worry for those who's only glimpse so far of the 2007 Police reunion was the performance of Message In A Bottle. Sorry.

Laz

ps. lest this look too much like a rant, Driven To Tears, Roxanne and Can't Stand Losing You sounded great. As long as Sting knows what he's doing as far as taking care of his voice I'm not too concerned.
