I know a few of you on here are into crafts and stuff so I thought this might be a good place to ask. I've got one of those cute wicker box bags and I want to paint it red. Any ideas what kind of paint would be best? I was thinking enamel spray paint.

Anyone? Anyone?

Oil based paint would probably be best.

Thanks Mrs G - would that be brush-on then or spray?

I'd spray, or it would be really hard to get into the crevices.

Funny, I said the same thing to my girlfriend the other day.

You made me spit some of my soda! Now my keyboard is sticky. See what you can do with that one.

Enamel spray would probably be your best bet -- just make sure to do it outside so you're not inhaling vapors.

Oil-based will take you a long time to dry and may need a sealant/varnish coat to get a good shine afterwards (again, with more time to dry). Plus depending on the surface it may not adheree as well as you like.

There are lots of acrylic craft paints out there too that are good for jobs like that, just look into wether you need to get a primer clear coat to prepare the surface first for good adhesion, and you'd probably want a clear sealant coat as well.

Pretty soon, everyone here is going to have to start putting prophylactics on their keyboards to protect them from liquids everyone spews forth when they surf this site either spraying them out of their mouths or up through their nostrils.
