Chicago Show #2

Chicago Show #2

Postby DJMeale on 06 Jul 2007 14:04

Woohoo!! Getting on the train in 3 hours to go downtown. Going to the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park (you know where that big fountain from Married With Children--Buckingham Fountain) and then back to Wrigley Field for the show. I can't believe today is the day...

Is Chicago the place known as the windy city?
"Break like the wind!" - Nigel from Spinal Tap :D

Have a great night Dan, hope to hear a report on how it was.

Caligula,

I wonder if Spinal Tap play Stonehenge tomorrow.

Whoops should I have posted this in the Live Earth thread.

My step-daughter gave me the DVD version of that movie a couple of Christmas's ago (my VHS version wore out) and I still can't get enough of it. Stonehenge is one of my favourites; not to forget Hell Hole & Big Bottom

I got a big kick out of the gift shop at the actual Stonehenge (Salisbury Plain, England) earlier this year...they have a miniature statuary that looks for all the world like the Spinal Tap set. I'd have bought it justlikethat if the airlines weren't restricting weight limits so severely these days.

Alright, 1 AM local time, show ended about 2 1/2 hours ago, and am a bit tired.

1. Awesome solo by Andy during Voices/World

2. ELTSDIM really got the crowd going

3. Next to You...Very loose, but my God they were having fun

Overall an amazing experience, it still hasn't sunk in that I was actually in the same venue as my all time favorite band. No noticeable glitches, many people around me who must have taken dancing lessons from Jerry Seinfeld's friend, Elaine Benes. All in all a great time.

Fiction Plane....eh....if I were them I wouldn't have passed up on the opportunity either but I am jealous of all the West Coasters who got the Foo Fighters....
