Thought some of you might find this interesting. A poll about the Police on Mike Portnoy's (Dream Theater drummer) forum. Some of the comments made are right on the mark, I think.

[Poll]

police or sting?

the police 80% (28)

sting solo 20% (7)

Total Votes : 35

Why doesn't Curved Air get much coverage around the forums? They're a prog band too, aren't they?

Where's the "Like both equally" option?

This is a good question. I like both quite a bit. I have most of Sting's solo recordings and I think they're very good, especially Nothing Like The Sun... and Ten Summoner's Tales. Some of the Police's music is just stellar and I love it and think it still sounds fresh and great (Every Little Thing She Does, Tea In The Sahara, King Of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger, etc). Ya gotta give it to Sting, though..the way he went from Songs From The Labyrinth, with all the lutes and semi-classical/romantic music to a Police reunion-who else could be so diverse and successful? Genius!

I love the request for showing some love to Curved Air:
Why doesn't Curved Air get much coverage around the forums? They're a prog band too, aren't they?
Now there's a poster who knows his history!
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
