I have tried absolutely everything, photobucket, getty images, my computer, link to external URLs, nothing will set my avatar in place.
I have avatars everywhere and this has never happened to me.

Are you sure the picture just isn't to big? And make sure you post the link in, "link of off site avatar".

I have resized it, and even on Photobucket I made sure to upload small images

Paste the actual url you are using in the "link to external url" field into a regular post to see if we can click on it.

You are probably formatting the url wrong.

Which link are you putting in? I think you have to put in the one in the URL line and not the link in the share line.

Are you putting the url from the web page it's on, or the one directly to the picture? Right click on the pic, and copy that url.

I am putting the Photobucket link in the URL line (it is, after all a jpg file) and the answer is A connection cannot be made with the URL you gave.

I tried to copy and paste the codes used on MySpace in the External link line, but It's not valid.

Right click on the pic, go to Properties, and copy the whole address listed.... use that one.

Tried phaty...do you see anything? I don't

Hi Kalypso, check out the thread by divemistress titled "avatar tutorial for new users" a few pages back.

Try tinypic.com - works fine for me....

from photobucket click on url the first one under your picture which will go to copy then go to your profile to the bottom line which for off site links and paste then submit I had no problems.

They have added another link to Photobucket it is the second one down just has url click on that then paste in your profile last line.
