Well, firstly i'm impressed, because all the ingredients are there, potentially....

Now, my critique is based on the premise that you are all trying to sound like the Police, rather than 'reinterpret'...

Singer: Great, high toned vocal range! Got a real Stingish tenor going there. Lost a few opportunities to get some good Sting trademarks going there - have a good study of some 'So Lonely' live recordings. Need to draw out some of those notes a bit more, and get some growl happening...

Drummer: Tight player but needs a better snare, and needs to study his Copelandisms. Ride was a bit loose, not enough tightness in the hihat.

Bassist: Seemed pretty on the money. Would benefit from having a listen to some live recordings.

Guitarist: Biggest issue. Good player, obviously knows the solo, but really, go hard with the 'live version' where the arrangement really kicks. have a study of a few live solos Andy did. Secondly, too much distortion. What is he playing? A Strat? Get a tele... play through the bridge pickup. Have a listen to the live shows from 79... Andy didn't use that much distortion, he relied on a sharp pickup and staccato, tight playing... needs to turn the distortion down, up the tone, deaden the strings with the right hand and really get subtle and sharp.

Overall you guys have real potential. If you seriously want to get a real Police thing happening, study the liver recordings from the 79 era particularly, where there were less difficult to emulate vintage effects and more reliance on raw energy.
