Meh. Not my thing, but I don't begrudge anyone who likes it.

Besides, I'm sure everyone is anxiously awaiting the lute rendition of "It's Alright For You".

i have a live version of "i burn for you" that he did and it's pretty awesome.

that being said, i can't stand his versions of "magic", "breath", "roxanne","message", "don't stand", "when the world is running down" or "bring on the night". bleh!

i've seen him in concert a bunch of times and i like most of his solo work - especially the first 3 albums. nothing like the sun and soul cages are great. i really don't like him re-doing the police songs though. true, he wrote them for the most part, but it's a massacre. he's got enough material of his own that he doesn't need to touch them.

I'm not ready to commit to an adult-contemporary-easy listening relationship yet (or at any point for that matter).
I too have seen Sting play live a couple of times and his renditions of Police songs sounded good (especially with Omar Hakim on the skins) but a bit light weight.

Somebody please spank me with that blessed bloody lute.

omar... he was only around for dream of the blue turtles right? he was awesome. vinnie is good to man. i think sting really got lucky with the musicians who back him up. they make him sound better for sure, but then again, he picks them, so he's got SOME taste.
AbsoLUTEly!
- jeff, you make me laugh

that joke was LUTElicious!

i'm ready for my spanking phaty!
