so, i found what i believe is the first bootleg copy of the vancouver show on ebay. i have reported it as well. you know, i don't have a problem with sharing that stuff, but when people try to turn a profit, it upsets me.

I absolutely agree. For the common good of the music lover is great but charging for something like that is just wrong.

i hope you reported them. it's pretty easy via ebay to do that. they WILL be suspended from selling, and it's anonymous as well.

yeah... i did. immediately.

it kind of makes you wonder... if this person has a good enough recording, it means that they were filming instead of enjoying the concert or there would be singing, screaming and wobbly camera shots - this person was no police fan in my opinion.

I don't begrudge someone for the quality of their recording, be it video or audio. Capture and editing tools are getting better and better, so the quality of the end product should get better accordingly.

But the minute they go on sale, it's illegally profiting from the work of a lot of people. The songwriter. The performers. The audio and lighting crew. The venue. It's straight-out thievery, and I'm glad you reported it, Policerule.

glad to hear it jeff! i'm pretty proud myself :D

my point about the recording quality was that if they went there with the intent of recording it for the sole purpose of selling it, then they shouldn't be there. it's like atheists in a church... know what i mean?

I know just what you mean. To go to a show just to grab a bootleg is really screwed up. I think karma will get these people.
