1) I mean, STEWART, you wear the sock you want, Sting wears the slip he wants, etc… The discussion is not only about your cloths. We are listening to what you play, illegally, but how can a fan do? From the Denver show I like a lot:

- ‘Driven’ nice delay effects, nice rhythm
- ‘Voices’ I like the way you do it
- ‘Walking’ fantastic slow down pulse. I like a lot. Make it even slower if you want.
- ‘Truth’ is amazing. It’s refreshing, because well rearranged from the original. On this one Sting’s voice fits, which I think is not the case in the other songs. Tempo should be slower or much faster. Or tempo variation in middle of the song.
- ‘Every little’ is fine.
- ‘Wrapped’ is more amazing then ‘truth’ because I say the same, except that here you did what I meant: a very slow tempo. It’s good music. It’s the kind of things I aspect from you. Fuck all those who want you to play as fast as the TGV. Everything is perfect in this song.
- ‘Bed is too big’ : a delight, extreme pleasure!! (Olivier, I heard the Taurus pedal.)
- ‘Footsteps’ is alright. Thanks for doing it.
- ‘Can’t Stand/ Regatta de Blanc’: very good. Keep it like this. A bit faster, but like this.
- ‘Roxanne’ : much much much much better than during the gramies! I kind of like it now! Keep it exactly the same.
- ‘King Of Pain’ : just great.
- ‘So lonely’ rocks. much much better from show to show. I like the ‘space’ and that incredible beat. Nice acceleration in middle of the song.
- ‘Next to you’ : just amazing. It would be a nice number to put in the beginning of the set. It has a lot of energy. It’s the only song that was ok for me since the first show. Keep it as a example of how all the rest should sound.

I would expect some progresses on:

- Message (I really dislike)
- Sync 2 (sorry, it sucks)
- don’t stand (it’s a massacre!?! what happened? I hate)
- ‘De Do Di Da’: is mist ! What happened ? Even when I play it with my brother it sounds better. By practicing your songs I discovered it’s one of the easiest to get good. Go back to something more simple. Sting is wrong, during all song. Pathetic. Do something Stewart.
- ‘Invisible sun’: has a fantastic intro (one note) and phrase change to the chorus. It’s something I like the most in you repertoire…. It’s one of my always favourites songs. Why the hell having rearranged it to something un-thrilling : completely flat. ‘elevator music’ ‘supermarket music’. Stop this please.
- ‘Every breath’ : no comment. Ok as last encore, to say good by, have a nice drive home, etc.

2) And sorry, I still feel much more impressed by you, Stewart and Andy, than by Sting. My opinion, is : he should stop singing and let you do more instrumentals.

3) It also stands for : if sting is considerating ‘the police reunion’ as a break in his career, whereas it should be ‘sting solo’ was a break in the history of ‘the Police’, It’s not a good thing. If Sting uses Stewart and Andy and then leaves them… as officially it’s said (just a 1 year trip), it is like you put on a pair of socks, and then you throw them away.

So, Dietmar, you understand what I wanted to say? Did I made an effort?

regards
Philip

Whatever Stewart, Andy and Sting decide to do after the tour, I just hope it's a mutual decision!!! For me, I just hope they stay together and nobody needs to throw away their socks!

Philip, I have to disagree. I think whatever happens after the tour really doesn't have a bearing on the tour itself. It's pretty amazing they got back together for the tour at all. I'm expecting nothing more.

And, honestly, I don't think Stewart or Andy are expecting anything more. They are both well off financially, they both express their creativity in terrific ways (books, films, soundtracks, solo albums and so on). In other words, they don't NEED Sting to do anything. I don't think it matters if they all go their separate ways after the tour is done.

As fans, let's be glad for what we get. :)

I agree Mr. daweasel. I'm sooo happy they're doing this. I consider it as closure for the band and the fans. If they don't do anything else under the name "The Police" that's fine with me.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

I know I've said this before, but step outside the crazy fan thing and look at the facts...

* The band we all love is back together
* They're coming to a venue near you
* They're playing 19 amazing songs (and sound great BTW)

What more do you want??? Let's enjoy it, who knows how long the ride is- relax, pull-up your socks and have some fun.
