Dear Stewart--I was fortunate enough to play on the same bill as you in '83 at Hollywood Park in L.A. At the time, you guys were my absolute favorites. I was in my early 20s. Imagine how I felt when your drum tech let me sit behind your kit!! Now I find myself preparing for your show at Dodger Stadium, many moons later. I can't wait to hear you again. I saw your press conference performance. You guys are so fantastic together, it brings a tear to the eye. Stewart, thank you for everything you have put forth. You are a major player in my musical life. Also, thank you on behalf of my mom, who was there in '83 and will be there tomorrow. Best Regards, Matt

......and a very lucky lad I was. I had been a member of "Berlin" for 10 months and had already lived my rock and roll dream! Of course, I'm not here to talk about me, but since Stewart and the Police are absolutely heroes to me I had to break out with some of my good stuff in order to, hopefully, get Stewart's attention. I'm absolutely thrilled to be going to Dodger Stadium!! My brother said they completely crushed it last night in Anaheim. I'm a true old-school Police fan: When the first album hit, I was working at Music Plus and wearing a denim vest with name tag. I love what they do and how they do it. You go, Police!!

Matt, that's awesome. You guys played a great show that day at Hollywood Park. Berlin, Thompson Twins, and The Fixx were a great opening selection of bands!
Thank you, sir.....

......Those were great times, and I'm sure the Police will be pushing a lot of my nostalgia buttons tomorrow. The approach they've taken with this tour is inspiring......Matt

I had to look up Berlin to refresh my memory...was pretty young, but now I remember...the singer was a real hottie...and they did "Take My Breath Away" in Top Gun.

The singer was Terri Nunn, and yeah, she was gorgeous back then.
"Take My Breath Away" was after Berlin became less edgy and more poppy -- it was their only giant crossover hit. The better tunes were "Sex", "The Metro", and my personal favorite at the time, "Masquerade".
One of Matt's old bandmates, David Diamond, is a guy I know professionally. I believe he's turned his focus toward 3-d illustration and other graphic design work.
