I'm there on the 26th with my wife! Not great seats, but better than Milwaukee 1984 which was--zip. I didn't go. Miles may have been great for their careers, but I can't imagine it was his bone-headed move that required a money order for tickets back then. At 14, I never dealt with money orders before. Had I been able to pay with cash, I would have gone. My souvenirs from that time were a t-shirt (long gone) and a tour program (which I just looked at yesterday).

Daner,

My wife will be in tow too. She is originally from Milwaukee too.

We are planning a little pre-concert get together at Dick's Last Resort by the AAC.

I'll be there for the 26th show ready to party all over again like I did in Vancouver!

well I've just had a serious damper put on my plans... I was going to be alone for the 26th and then my husband was going to drive the kids up from Austin for the show on the 27th. Now I've got them in tow, so don't think I can do anything besides go to the show and back to the hotel. Maybe I'll start looking for cheap tix for them to at least get them in that night which will allow me to go to dinner (at our own table) at keast I'd be able to visit that way. Grrrrr.
And people wonder why I go to shows alone? THIS is why. When there's only one person to worry about, things usually work. I was going to bag bringing them on the 27th, but they really want to go, as well as the Fiction Plane gig on the 28th.

I can't believe DALLAS is coming back. JR was so much cooler than Bobby.

Michelle - How many tickets would you need for the 26th show? I've had some people back out and now I have 4 (maybe only 3) seats (they are actually all together) at the $90 price level.

Yeah, but Bobby had the ability to rise from the dead. That's a neat trick.

hahahah, Conroy :) Well, it's impossible to believe that Dallas will have only been one month since Vancouver, that alone I can't get past...My house looks lik I've neglected it for a month, surely <grin>

Michelle, hope things work out so you all get to have a great time!

Five days!

My sister in law is coming in from NYC tonight and tomorrow we're all going to Memphis for the awesome Stax Records reunion concert:

"In an unparalleled celebration of Stax Records’ 50th anniversary, the heart and soul of the legendary label’s lineup will reunite onstage for “50 Years of Stax: A Concert To Benefit the Stax Museum of American Soul Music.” The event will be held Friday, June 22 at Memphis’ Orpheum Theater at the foot of Beale Street.

Early artist confirmations include Isaac Hayes, Booker T & the MGs (featuring Steve Cropper & Duck Dunn), Eddie Floyd, William Bell, Mavis Staples, the Soul Children, the Reddings (honoring the legacy of their father Otis Redding) and special guest star Angie Stone. Additional Stax stars and special guests will be announced shortly."

Woohoo! Can't wait. So I'll have something fun to do as I while away the time...

What are folks packing for Dallas? How hot is it down there? (Egg frying on pavement hot? Or merely the kind of "hell" hot we've got around here? ;))

I think it's gonna be pretty damned hot, Dive. Pack accordingly!

I'm traveling light, but if any of you ladies (and hell, gents too) would like some sync-color bead bracelets I'm making a bunch and will be glad to hand 'em out. Might make some bright green ones for the KK girls, too :D
