Headband Cam

Stewart,
tonydrums and sockii came up with a really cool idea. It sounds completely do-able and I want to see what you think. The Stewart Copeland Headband Cam. It would be totally KICK-ASS if we could 'see' a show from your point of view!! Your devoted fans would go nuts to be able to 'ride' atop your chariot of fire and watch while you're playing.
They make really tiny cameras these days (like we need to tell YOU about cameras:D). Of course, it would entail having another gizmo, for lack of a better term, on your head. Albeit a small one. I'm sure there are a kazillion techno-geeks involved with the show. There's got to be someone who know's exactly how to do this. You'd only have to do it for 1 or 2 shows. Whattya say? Huh???

Ooh ooh... what if Stewart had a headband cam and he filmed one of the fans waving the flag!!!!

Just how cool would that be?!

I would love this as well. In fact, it would be cool if they make a dvd of this tour to be able to select the headband cam as one of the angles to view the whole show.

Hey, just think of all the fun you could have if you could whip this baby out at a party where people have been drinking quite liberally!

Just when I'm getting all gung ho about this idea, there's Dietmar to shoot it down.

and I'm only saying this because I've seen what I shot in Vancouver with my camera - and I tried to hold it steady!

Watching video from a camera attached to someone's head would be a sickening experience, I guess.

agreed deitmar... i could handle about 30 seconds of it probably. wouldn't hurt to film it though just to try...

huh stew... please?

all of them should wear them in fact. they could totally edit it from all three points of view when the tour in finally over and come up with something really special.

GREAT IDEA!

Drum Corps International (www.dci.org) has already used one for the drum judge that runs around on the field judging the drumline so the audience in the stands can see up close. They now have it as an angle you can switch too on their dvds!

Hint Hint!

Dietmar...a man who minces no words. :D

I get what you're saying. I'm sure editing would be in order. Especially since we'd be viewing from *Stewart's* head as opposed to a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Besides don't they have some kind of gyroscopic doohickies that would keep the lens still? Again, the techno-savvy would come in handy here. I don't want this to turn into some kind of Al Franken one-man satellite uplink helmet kind of thingy (I almost sprayed wonton soup on my keyboard with that image  ) .

But, think how cool it would be to see his progression from the dressing room, meeting up with Sting and Andy, the slither from behind the gong, the opening "Gonnnnnnnnggggggggggg," all the fun stuff on the percussion stage, oh, this just gets better and better!

Stewart!! You gotta think about this!!! Besides you'd have 2 hands free to strangle the life out of Sting!!
