After all the excitement in Vancouver over the past few days, weeks and months I just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge our fan-extraordinaire DirtyMartini. Thanks for your guidance to the proverbial light I was able to attend the FC show in addition to the main event on May30th. I always enjoy reading your witty and at times, humorous posts and remarks to others. As I was being whisked away in the throng of people after the FC show I could swear I saw that green flag of yours before I left. My only regret was not being able to meet up with you (and other fellow SCers).
Congrats on winning the autographed box set, you deserve more than that! SC.net wouldn’t be any fun without you. Keep posting and flying that way cool flag girl! Now that The Police have gotten out of dodge, I can only read about their adventures in the threads of this forum.
great

It's great to see how SCers are interacting each other thanks to this place...I'm so proud of it and very happy ... of course beyond all that there is a common thread that we all know by the name of The Police and of course Stewart Copeland.
I'm sure this tour will get us closer and will make a bigger community in the name of Stewart, but also in the name of friendship...beyond all barriers, flags, religions....

The only thing that kept this from being perfect is that you couldn't be there to share it with us, Gio. I hope we can meet you someday as well. This was so much fun and thanks for providing a place where we can all meet online so we can meet up in person. You were definitely there in spirit as well as also received numerous toasts in your honour while we were celebrating in Vancouver.

Aw hell, Caligula -- thank you. You're so sweet! I can't tell you how much -- hey, wait a minute -- "at times"? Who you calling humorous "at times, you little . . . ?!?
I was searching the stands for you before the show! But considering I have no clue what you look like, I inevitably failed. You should have shouted out when you saw the flag cuz I would have loved to have had a chance to meet you!
I am very glad that you were able to see the show -- Congrats! But I certainly don't deserve any special props. I simply passed along a favor as so very many wonderful folks on the board have done for me. Just sharing the love. But I'm absolutely touched, and I thank you.
Gio, ditto to Conroy's comments. I have made some incredible new friends via the board, some of whom I finally got to meet last weekend. You and Stewart have put together an amazing community of people. My big mouth and I are simply honored to be a part of it.
Thank you, Caligula.
Thank you, Gio.
Thank you, Stewart.
Now, can I start being mean again?

You are one talented chick! You deserve the props.
We should've done a Flat Stanley with the flag. The flag at customs in the airport, the flag at Subeez at dinner meeting other SC.netters and Gert, the flag in the will call line, in the Brewhouse party ticket line, with a purple wrist tag, with the legendary Dietmar, being filmed by Gert, at the Brewhouse party, being filmed by Jordan, at the FC show, at the Squamish rec center, at opening night show, etc, etc, etc.
DAMN!!! Ok, everyone. Back to Vancouver!!!

Yesssssssss, DirtiMartini fuken rawx...I let out a usually-reserved-for-Stewart yelp when she won...couldn't have been happier she won the best prize (short of front row tix)...I'm sure happy you decided to speak up and keep us entertained instead of staying quiet like you threatened to do in your intro post!!!
Heh, SamburuSunset, looks like we'll just have to do it again...soooo, where's the next stop we can all meet up? <grin> I'm currently eyeing all the places that will be less than one day travel on Greyhound...surprisingly that includes a lot <evil grin>
PS: Gio, love your new sig line & can't wait to meet you & others from here <smile>

Hi Giovanni, I managed to sign to SC.net at last!! well, Stewarts wonderful review of the "disaster gig" did that....Screw that one journalist who had nothing intelligent to write for himself and stole Stewarts words...now, people going to flood the board because they want to see and read that showbiz is still made by human beings and real musicians - not Paris Hilton or Michael Jackson clones;-)
Best Wishes
Anne

This day is such an emotional roller coaster!!!
Thank you, guys! I'm touched. (Stewart, cal-- oh, wait -- probably shouldn't do that today, huh?
)
And believe me, if I weren't on a plane from CA til that Saturday morning, I would SO be at Roo. I'm going to be so jealous of y'all. You're going to have a blast!

Well, looks like this is the "Official Dirty Martini Appreciation Thread" so I can't miss the opportunity to join in! Not only a fan extraordinaire, funny and literate as hell, DM is also a real sweetheart!
It's not easy for us relatively shy types to enter a new playground, but Kelly, you have made me feel so welcome here, and for that I truly thank you! (Yes, I'm a bit of a mush-ball...people either love it or hate it...at this point it's what I'm stuck with!)
Might just need to go off and find a cocktail now so I can offer up a proper toast in your honor!! Cheers, my friend!
