I went to Foxnews.com for some comedy reading... and found an article on the Police.
It said mid July The Police will play acoustic on MTV un-plugged.
Way Cool ! (if true).

Sources tell me that the date for the show is July 13 and it will take place at a still-to-be-named location in Miami.>>>>
Um.. awesome! I'm totally going to try and get tickets. I live right there! It'd be The Police July 10, 11 in Tampa, and then again on the 13th.
Oh I would go nuts.

Cool for you !
The great thing about MTV un-plugged is....it means a CD and DVD usually.
heh,heh....the growing collection continues.
what is it they USED to be called...oh yes..."The number one band in the world"
History may repeat itself. They will be the first band to get back together...and if they did another album ....and y'know...the hits!!!
They will be that again.
Cheers.

I am really happy about this project. Always liked the Unplugged Concert series.... It would be a dream come true an Unplugged Police concert...

MTV needs to bring back it's roots. The Unplugged series is a great way and a great thing to do. There are so many bands out there that would make great for unplugged shows...
I hope The Police revitalize this and then other bands come on and do an Unplugged showcase:
-Wilco
-Bright Eyes
-Spoon
-Foo Fighters
-Matisyahu
-Incubus
It would be great if the Unplugged series actually came back.

MTV's roots were bands like the Police. I remember watching MTV when it mattered and the boys were a staple. Now, MTV is the worst piece of shit on TV.
MTV needs an unplugged by the Police to validate it and breath some life into it. Music fans want something more than Real World skanks and dating show shit, or cribs.

I know there's no official word yet, but have any locals heard any new info recently on the possible Miami acoustic thing?
July is fast approaching, which makes one wonder . . .

>> it means a CD and DVD usually
And it usually means that some of the songs/rehearsals are never officially released, as well.
(Crossing my fingers for those to surface as well...)

i don't see anything on the mtv site about it yet and the only reporting i saw on it came from fox. we'll see.
totally unrelated, but i'm having a flashback... speaking of a time when there was only videos on mtv... does anyone remember the 30 min. video blocks that used to be on HBO? i am trying to remember, but i think one of them had "spirits", "centerfold", "come on eileen" and some others. ahhh, memories
