Fiction Plane's "Two Sisters" declared 'pants'

Postby Omaha_Perez on 25 May 2007 20:50

Steve Jones does "Jonesy's Jury" every Friday in which he plays all new tracks on his show and has a guest panel declaring them "mustard" (good) or "pants" (bad). Today's panel included actors Luke and Andrew Wilson, Tommy Ramone and Linda Ramone (Johnny Ramone's widow, I believe). Tommy was the sole jury member to declare "Two Sisters" 'mustard'. Jonesy thought it was ok but declared it 'pants' in the end.

That was only the second time I'd heard the song. I'm not knocked out by it but I liked the first album so I am curious to hear the rest of the new album... and to see them on the tour.

I saw them on Leno on Wed. night, and have listened to a few of their other songs. I have to admit it must be extremely difficult to get from under the shadow of your father when he's someone like Sting (or Lennon). But I'm not to crazy about his vocals, and I think they need a better drummer (natch!). :)

Yeah, that's a tough one. The good news is he sounds like his father and the bad news is he sounds like his father.

I thought the first album (and the Santa's Boyfriend album) showed a lot of promise. He can sing, the band can rock, now the tricky part... they need to write some truly great songs.

They need all of us !

Totally Rad !

9 drummers and 5 bass players and.....OK sorry.

I can't get exited about them. I always expect a reggae song...to me I think it would siut his voice. Then again this coming from someone who will be in the audience while they are on stage. I guess I just put myself in my place.

shut up...No You !

I have to go ....I'm arguing right now.

(I said shut up ! you have no right to....)heh.

I checked out their music from their myspace account. I don't hate this song, but it definitely sounds more like his father's (and the Police's) work, and I'm not talking just the vocals. The guitar line sounds almost the same from "The Bed's Too Big Without You." I'm not appalled by it, but I'm reserving my judgement till I hear more.

Hannaha, I think everyone needs a cellist.
