Anyone have a bootleg of last night's show?

Anyone have a bootleg of last night's show?

Even though it's deplorable to steal Stewart's music, I think we're only about a week away from posts where people will be looking to do just that.

It's a shame they have no other option.

That's part of being so famous, don't you think so?

I wish one day someone will do the same with my band, as swapping live stuff and things like that.....as it would simply mean I will have my music played all over....

Of course I know it might hurt on each artist as $$$ will be done by someone into selling bootlegs, and no cent will go to artist/publisher/record company, etc... but that's part of the package.

The negative side is that in some cases bootlegs income goes to 'negative companies', if you know what I mean....

As to live recordings that will be swapped within fans, that's cool and that do no hurt anybody.

I would like to ask you then- what will the official stance of this website be? Will you allow it, or delete anything you see when they start coming in? Will you kinda look the other way? Would you like the forum members to do this on their own, communicate on the board but not actually post anything?

I know it will be prevalent, and I for one am going to want to seek out any recordings. That's just the nature of this beast we all have locked in our cages. Last thing I wanna do is cause Gio and the team any headaches and force them to do anything that would suck for this community, like shut down!

Would it be worth making a more private forum here for the longer standing members to communicate about this so anyone trolling/surfing that isn't registered wouldn't be able to see it? Anyone else have any ideas?

Of course the people who can't make to the shows would want to hear it, (and those who have gone and want to relive them) and I'm no different. However I always find bootlegs to be really bad quality and I just end up throwing them away.

I wouldn't mind spending the money for something offical... but I understand that not everyone has spare cash.....
I can't see how the site can allow it...... think it might be a 'put your email down if you want it' type thing....

I will be interested to see Giovanni's official point of view.......

Over to you....

Right - but the point is, I'd rather see Stewart and his bandmates make the cash simply by selling the "bootlegs" themselves on their very own website, like all the Internet-savvy bands are doing nowadays.

I have heard that from after the concerts that you can buy that concert half an hour later. If it's true I don't know how that is done if anyone does let me know so I can get one after my Melbourne concert.

Reliving the concert will be so unreal.

Andy Summers in the Vancouver Sun: "It's got to the point now, where I think we've got to record this all live because it's so killer at this point. They all sound like new material."

Ouch. That sucks. I'm a stickler for quality and have mostly soundboards or radio broadcast.

I wish they would just allow folks to record the show. However, some asshat would screw it up for us and start selling them.

I loathe folks who buy/sell bootlegs.

That being said, I'm gearing up for a summer of downloading :)

That's an incredibly cool perspective on it Gio, one i agree with wholeheartedly.

Spec, while a more private board might facilitate more trading, i find that the consciensious folks tend to get up with each other privately by email anyway. Lord knows i've gotten some magnificent grails in the past couple of years just by hanging out here and sending out the occasional email.
