Gearing up for the summer's most anticipated reunion tour, The Police began rehearsals at the Squamish Reserve in North Vancouver in complete anonymity.
The staff at the local coffee shop, the guests at their hotel, and even fans haven't recognized them yet.
CTV British Columbia reporter Peter Grainger was one of the few to recognize members of the famous band.
He ran into Andy Summers this week and received a big thumbs up, but otherwise there was no comment from the band's guitarist.
"Unfortunately the camera wasn't rolling on that -- or when I ran into Stewart Copeland," Grainger reported. "All he said was they were having fun working out the arrangements-- adding new things.
"He wasn't sure how much more he could add other than that they were all enjoying their time here in Vancouver."
In a few days, the band will move their sound and stage equipment into GM Place for a few full rehearsals. May 27th is the first concert, at GM Place. Then they continue on to 29 cities over the summer.
The list of Canadian dates:
Vancouver: May 27, 28 and 30
Edmonton: June 2
Toronto: July 22, 23
Montreal: July 25 and 26
Toronto: Nov. 8
The Police formed in 1977 and split in 1983 after the release of their hugely popular album, 'Synchronicity'.
Although the break-up was never officially announced, the members moved onto solo careers. The group reunited briefly in 2003 to perform a three song set when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but this tour will be their first in more than two decades.
They did memorably open the Grammy Awards in February with the words "Ladies and gentlemen, we are the Police and we're back!"
