A Phone Conversation With Stew

True Story.
Right before the Leopard Son soundtrack was to be released, there was a mis-informed press release saying how stewart was working on a new solo cd. I was working at Columbus Pro Percussion in Ohio. I decided to take it upon myself (with a "good luck!" from manager) to contact Stew's management to invite him into the store to do a clinic on playing and film scoring, etc in promotion of this so called new 'solo album.'
I knew Ark 21 was Miles' new company and that I could get to Stew somehow through them. I called the number for Ark 21 and a lady answered the phone:
Ark Lady: Hello?
Me: Yes, I am calling from Columbus Pro Percussion in Columbus, Ohio to invite Stewart to come to our store and do a clinic on film scoring and drumming in promotion of his upcoming cd release.
Ark Lady: Ummm hold on....try this number.....(gives me a number) this number should get you thru to someone who can help you.
Me: Ok, thank you very much
(I dial the number....phone rings as my hand starts to sweat)
A very familiar voice answers the phone in a cautious tone..
"Hello???"
(IT'S STEWART!!!!!! THE LADY ACTUALLY GAVE ME HIS F-ING NUMBER!)
Me: Stewart? (in a pre-pubescent tone)
Stew: Ummm Yeaaahhh?
Me:(all in one breath, fed ex style)Hi my name is chad paetznick and i want to invite you to do a clinic at our store on drumming and film scoring when you come here promoting your new cd.
Stew: You're whooo?
Me: my name is chad paetznick and i want to invite you to do a clinic at our store on drumming and film scoring when you come here promoting your new cd.
Stew: You mean the leopard son soundtrack? That's coming out soon.
Me: Ummm, I guess I thought there was something else coming out
Stew: no, the only thing I have going right now is the leopard son release.
Me: Ok well we'd be glad to have you in and promote your work and we'd love it if you were interested in doing a clinic on film scoring and drumming.
Stew: Ooooookaaaay. And what's your name again?
Me: Chad Paetznick
Stew: And who are you with?
Me: Columbus pro percussion in Columbus Ohio.
Stew: Ok thanks for the offer.
Me: Ok thank you
Stew: Goodbye
Me: Goodbye

I run to the front of the store and yell "I JUST HAD A CONVERSATION WITH STEWART COPELAND!!"
The clinic event never happened, but he was nice about me calling and didn't hang up on me at least.
Thanks Stewart. Do you remember this odd call? I still have the number but never used it again or shared it with ANYONE (which I won't ever do). It's probably changed by now anyway. Did anyone get canned at Ark 21 that day because of me? I hope not!
