Well.... here I am sat at work at 3.15 AM and I seem to be all alone?
Anyway I've posted a couple of things on the forum but I thought I'd take this opportunity to formally introduce myself...
I'm Kim...
My love affair with The Police started on 11th August 1979 when I saw Sting on a BBC Programme called Juke Box Jury. At the time I thought 'He's quite nice'...
When Regatta came out I went and bought that (having saved my pennies) and saw the pictures of Stewart...... Well I have to say Sting just paled into insignificance......
OMG!! I was not quite 11 years old and had my first big crush... (which to be honest never quite stopped....)
I didn't go to any of the concerts the first time round as I was a bit young, and money was a bit tight for my family and I had no one to go with....
So I'm making up for it now by going to two concerts (so far)
I would like to thank Stewart for educating me in my youth.....
Due to him I started to read up about the Lebanon and the problems they were facing, I followed them around the world in my atlas... I got right into photography (although my dad refused to buy me a Nikon camera...) I learnt all about Stewarts drum kit, what was what and what they all did.....
I decided to get myself a paper round so I could save up to buy my own singles, LP's posters badges and magazines...... My bedroom walls were covered.
I would live, eat, sleep and talk The Police and Stewart all day every day.....
I recently spoke to one of my friends about the reunion and she started to laugh.... When I asked her why she said I sounded exactly the same as I did when I was 13 years old!!
Due to the band I became intersted in the name behind them and when I was old enough joined The Police myself........ And I've been a member ever since.... (hence sitting here at stupid o'clock...)
I am so excited the band is back together again, although I'm sad it took so long.....
Anyway it's lovely to read messages from all the other fans out there and to know that I am just as normal as the rest of you!!!
