Hi there fellow SC.net fans!
I just realized while reading the TPT site that some of you are not a part of the site and could be missing out on some of the posts. I am cmoonie13 over there and posted the following on the Fan get together folder. If you are going to Vegas and are a newbie this could be helpful.... take care all!
Dear Vegas bound fans! First of all, I am so incredibly excited!!! We arrive in Vegas on the 13th and leave on the 16th evening. My boyfriend and I are Vegas regulars and go out at least 2xs a year. We are mostly poker players and play blackjack and craps, as well. Some suggestions...
For those of you who play blackjack, STAY AWAY FROM THE 6:5 blackjack pay tables! They are cheating you!! The casinos have set these tables up at lower minimums to sucker you in. See this article: http://wizardofodds.com/articles/other/6to5bj.html
For blackjack, check the rules when you sit down and don't be afraid to get up. We circle the tables looking for 3:2 blackjack pay and Dealer stands on all 17s. Also, better rules are to allow you to resplit Aces and double on split cards.
When it comes to Cirque shows. I have seen and loved Zumanity (adult sexy theme with acrobatics), KA (awesome martial arts and acrobatics), O (beautiful water and acrobatics). I recommend them all! I have not seen Myster but my boyfriend has and he loved it!
Eating.. one of my favorite restaurants is in the MGM- Pearl. It is elegant Chinese. We love it. My boyfriend's favorite dish is a beef with mushroom dish. WE also love Mon Amie Gabi at the Paris and the Bellagio and Wynn buffets. Take a trip downtown and check out the lower minimums on games.
Be safe, drink lots of water because it is VERY dry out there and you don't realize when you are dehydrated. If you are walking up and down the strip during the day wear a hat and sunscreen. Remember to tip your dealers and waitresses. Very cool website run by a cocktail waitress: www.cocktaildoll.com
Another good discussion board where there is lots of talk about visiting Vegas is:

I must warn you that I did not get a favorable response when I posted on the forum about going to see the Police at the MGM. I got a few crass comments.

We are going to have a blast!! Whooooo HOOOOO

Thanks, Georgy!
Yes, for the first time ever I am going to practice discipline while in Vegas. No preconcert craziness. I must be in my prime for the show.
It is going to be GREAT!
