There's a lot I don't believe here, but...discuss: (apologies if this has been posted elsewhere before)

Yup, that's the one I read this morning...

1. "Sting has a deal with A&M, but The Police is a separate entity." :?:
(Does that mean that since Sting is already on A&M, The Police have to be on another label? Makes no sense, particularly since The Police were on A&M years before Sting had a proper solo career.)

2. "The North American leg kicks off in Vancouver May 2." :?:
(The North American leg actually kicks off in Vancouver May 28.)

Seems like a gossip column story full of holes if you ask me...

I agree...I mean, seeing the difficulties the record companies are having, it would seem to me they could multi-track belching and get a deal. I mean, people are WAITING for this.

That is clearly bogus. It makes no sense on a number of levels.

"An exec at Interscope, which owns A&M, says: "There was no demo. We haven't heard any new music. They've always been on A&M, and they still are. I don't think they can go anywhere else."

They had a guy from A&M at the press conference.

Seriously, which record company could refuse to sign The Police if they were out of A&M and looking for a label?
Their name is still strongly bankable, whatever they do, good or bad. And since when record companies have artistical concern? They want money, that's all.
This paper isn't serious at all and unfortunately it's not the first one... neither the last one!

Yeah, seems way more likely that The Boys would get a contract without any material whatsoever because of demand. (Sting's sales numbers alone would justify the costs.)

In another thread Sockii mentioned hearing a rumor that some Sting-written songs had been rejected as a solo effort. This sounds like the same rumor wearing a different dress.

And don't forget, Brothers and Sisters, that The Daily News is crap.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
