The semi-annual request for STEWARTS DRUM DVD !!!

Postby BongoBoy on 10 Apr 2007 16:02

OK so it's that time again.

STEWART: a lot of us would love to purchase a DVD of you practicing drumming. Just put a camera in your studio and shoot it, Gio will do it!

Then we will all buy it!

and we will all be better drummers!

C,mon! Hell has already frozen over and The Police are back....so make a nice drumming DVD OK?

Thanks Buddy.

Good point, BBoy. You certainly can't argue with that logic. :D
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I'm not a drummer...but the weird thing is, I find nothing more enjoyable than the sound of a great drum kit being played in a great sounding room all by itself.

I would pay big time just to have audio only tracks of Stewart playing, let alone a video of his playing.

It would also be very cool if The Police ever made their tracks available for fans to "remix" like Peter Gabriel and others have done. I'd love to be able to hear just the original drum tracks off of GIM.

A "drum loop" CD with all of Stewart playing all his trademark riffs and patterns would also be very cool!

I'm not a drummer either, but I'd love to have it!
The movie on the LINK section, < Stewart and drums on montserrat 81 > gives us an image of Stewart being a teacher, I like it very very much!
Thank you for the link>howardhughes

Be sure to check out SC on Play It Again -- Sockii posted a link. It's too short, but you guys will really enjoy it.

And I second the vote for a drum track CD. That would be amazing.

Stewart,

Once the tour is over, we can find you lots of little projects to keep yourself busy.

Thanks, Yes I found it afterwards and downloaded the file, it's fabulous !! >thank you sockii !

And you Dirty Martini, you've started playing drums recently.....and I tell you...... I'm gonna buy an electric guitar next week, for the first time in my life!
I didn't even touched before, I know nothing about how to play (or even hold properly).
But I feel like playing it, it's obvious that this Forum had something to do with it! Not just "something", a Great Subliminal Influence upon me.
You musicians here talking about tools and techs, notes & codes, lead me into a world of music , not just for listening.

Watching the movie Stewart teaching drums these 2~3 nights, I felt like drumming too, but I decided to do it later.
(after Stew's DVD or CD is released ??? I'll be waiting!!)

Well, I feel myself like a fish jump into a new water, a bit nervous but I'm gonna enjoy the stream, let me into your school, guys!

Uccellina,
Never forget that it's all about having fun and creating a sound that sounds good to your ears... believe me, you mess around with the guitar long enough and you'll play things that sound good to you and that keeps you going further and further... you never know...

Wonderful, Uccellina! Good for you! (In addition to learning the drums, I'm hoping to get back into playing the guitar.) It might be a bit awkward at first -- but once you get used to bending your wrist and fingers into weird positions and build up some calluses, you'll be good to go! It's amazing how many tunes you can play after learning only a couple of chords.

The drummers here have been enormously helpful, and we've got quite a few guitar players out there as well. So don't be afraid to post questions to the rest of Copelandia!

Thank you GinaSuperCat, when you set the poll about "snare , toms, hi-hats etc...", I've found the name of these instruments so charming and, also,
like Laz says, to be aware of what "sounds good to my ears", it changed my attitude to listen to the music ( thank you for "Gambatte" !)
It's fun to re-listen to the music in a different way!

DirtyMartini>>> It's amazing how many tunes you can play after learning only a couple of chords<<<
Nice to Know~~~!! And, all the replies to the questions you made before (as a virgin drum goddess...), they are very helpful for the beginners of any instrument. " Practice ! Have fun! Develop your ear ! Don't expect to become SC(AS, this time) overnight !"
Yes, this "Copelandia" is So~~~ nice!

And back to the subject !
Bongoboy>>>so make a nice drumming DVD OK? <<<
Really looking forward to see this. (*refrain) :) :)
