Characters of the Month: The Police

I just saw a comercial on the USA network in their "characters" line...if you don't watch USA network, they feature shows and have corresponding comericals focused on figures who they claim as "characters," funny sorts like Tony Shalhoub (from Monk), or Anthony Michael Hall (from Dead Zone), or James Roday (Psych), or Hugh Laurie (House), and so on...

Anyhow, this month "characters of the month" are...the Police <cheers>...and the commercial is a funny simultaneous promotion and poke of fun at the reunion, at them, and ticket prices (You can hear them play Walking on the Moon for slightly less than it would cost to walk on the moon!") and ends with a bit about the fact that you need to see them now or the next time you'll see them is 2028 (with a digitally enhanced photo exaggeratedly aging/balding them)...I thought it was pretty funny in a light way <grin>

Characters of the month? I'm fairly sure that this is an understatement, at least from our perspective, but that's the official title from USA Network!

About Police reunion nowadays.

Gina thanks for the information. I like this part:

Hm...I'll try to get some of this on Tivo. Are they playing it every hour or so? (Tonight, though, it'll have to wait - Sopranos at 8 PM! Can't wait!)

Ya I've seen it twice since last night...all I've been doing today is playing drums and watching whatever movies are on tv...I got sucked into Notting Hill on USA (when they ran the segment) and have since seen American Wedding, Croupier, Alice in Wonderland and whacked away through Nirvana's Nevermind and RHCP Stadium Arcadium LOL...we don't really celebrate Easter but still love and fully enjoy any holidays that pose an excuse to not work, stay home, and fart about having fun! <grin>

I bet if you tivo'd the Fast and the Furious (what USA is running from 7-9 ish) they'll run the commercial during that time slot...can't promise anything but I'd bet the chances are good <giggle>
