Stressed in So Cal...help!

Important questions in CAPS.

I'm trying to go to the first Vancouver show, as well as at least one or two So Cal shows. Pretty sure I'll be able to get a pair of Vancouver tickets no problem. However, So Cal is getting stressful.

I want to take my family of 4 to a So Cal show. Dodger seems great - never been to a stadium show before, seems like fun, almost magical with so many people united together under the stars for The Police. Plus, Foo Fighters opening! However I kind of screwed up - really wanted good field/baseline seats but in the end rushed into buying 2 admittedly great floor pairs (Section F19), only a few seats apart. We are a rather short family and I realized after the fact that we'll be fighting to see over people's heads. I don't need to be incredibly close - it seems to be it would be an overall better experience with some really good field seats. SO I'm really looking to trade or sell these & buy 4 field seats together. 4 is a tough number, not like 2.

Staples Center - I kind of rushed into the BB presale and bought 2 seperate pairs, ultimately not really happy with either so I'll probably sell them. (Good seats, too.) I guess I got a little stressed yesterday when I realized I blew $1200 on seats I didn't really need. I WILL BE ABLE TO FIND BUYERS FOR THESE TICKETS...RIGHT??? That plus my Dodger ticket.. roughly $1500 thus far. Yipez.

I still haven't used my FC password either - I want to buy 4 with it. I was hoping for another stadium show (preferably w/ a "real" opener ala Foo Fighters). THE FC PASSWORD IS GOOD FOR TICKETMASTER SHOWS THRU THE END OF 2007, CORRECT? HOW LIKELY IS ANOTHER SUMMER SO CAL SHOW - STADIUM OR ARENA? I actually calculated that NYC has ~120K total seats while LA still has only ~75K or so. THERE *SHOULD* BE ANOTHER FALL SHOW IN LA, DON'T'CHA THINK? Regardless, I'm only taking my family once and I really like that Foo's/stadium combo. I just hope I use that FC code somehow...I basically paid $100 for it. The catch is, if I wait too long it might be too late to use it, but right now my mom's starting to think I'm a maniac with all this ticket buying and indeed I'm $1500 in the hole at the moment...

Well...it's too late now as the Staples FC presale just started...but SHOULD I USE MY FC CODE TO GET 4 TIX TO STAPLES? Nevermind...I'm not going to. The seats I'm getting are rather crappy anyway - plus I'd be bummed it wasn't the stadium/Foo's show.

I'm all stressed. I wish I wouldn't have to stay in suspense about future show dates. Vancouver aside, I suppose my best bet is to sell the Staples tix ASAP, try my hardest to get the Dodger seats I want since I truly like that show....and I dunno what else. I told myself 3 shows - opening night, w/ the family, and a really good seat by myself or with a friend. I think 3 in summer and again in fall is a bit much. So I guess I'll use my FC code for the fall show...unless a REALLY promising 2nd stadium show comes up. Hmmm...WILL THERE BE BEST BUY PRESALES FOR FALL SHOWS? Those do seem to have better, closer seats....I'd have to figure out how to use the FC code.

::sigh:: Well, I think I made myself feel a little better already. Thanks for any feedback! :)

xucla, you really should go check the forums at TPT.com...I'm *sure* you'll find answers to all these questions over there. It's not that people here don't care, but there are LOTS more people over there and consequently a larger base of knowledge. Good luck!

Breathe, UCLA, breathe!

The whole ticket situation is kinda crazy, especially since so many dates keep getting thrown into the mix and the presale system is so shaky. But don't kill yourself trying to predict what may or may not happen cuz it has become too much like playing the lottery. Remember that you're doing this to enjoy yourself! Now breathe some more.

If I were you, I would make a list of the shows that I want, how many tickets are needed for each, then I'd go after those. If I could get tickets for the good shows (Vancouver, Dodgers Stadium), then I'd resell the tickets for the shows that I don't want (Staples). But I would keep the Staples tickets (just in case) until I was sure that I had the preferred shows in hand. If another show gets added, I'd deal with it then; otherwise, I'd proceed assuming that the current schedule is set in stone.

BUT I would only proceed assuming the very worst case scenario: that I might get stuck with more tickets than I can sell and can either a. just use them anyway; b. give them away; and/or c. eat the cost. No matter how high the demand is, you just never know whether you'll be able to unload tickets.

Now breathe one more time. And remember that even if you don't get the exact show/seats that you were hoping for, you will still have one hell of a time somewhere. (And try to ignore the BBCode thing -- you're not the only one for whom it doesn't work.)
