Hi all, just a note that the first contest for TPT members is up--the prizes are one of 5 signed copies of Andy's Book, Sting's book, or Stewart's movie (15 winners total)...info is at the top of news on the site :)

I'm laughing my azz off irl here...its getting crazy over there at TPT...I think all the excitement and years of waiting for this moment are just making people mental...and they are exploding...in the form of...a flurry of posting :)

Ya, ya I'm right there in the midst :)

Well, me too, but I admit to a bit of frustration with TPT.com at the moment...

* The Quicktime multimedia streams still don't work...neither do the high-quality streams of the two newest videos (Grammy and Whisky rehearsals)
* My email to enter the giveaway contest was returned...some sort of server error on Livenation's end
* I'm on the hotseat with others waiting to find out if my concert tickets will be voided (stuck to the four-seat-per-household limit for each fan club code, but bought the four tix in separate transactions)...folks are receiving conflicting answers from the helpdesk

Sigh. I know, I know, it's the price you pay for liking a really popular band, but...sheez. I gotta think there's a better way. Hopefully there will be, after the newness and rush of this initial tour subsides.

Sorry to hear about those troubles :( Hopefully it will get worked out asap and I'm prayin for you re: the tickets/limits. I received a confirmation for the contest, but the confirmation was acknowleging a "support" request so who knows where it went , hah...

Be careful using the word "rush" over there though, lol :)

Yeah. I'm trying not to go mental over the ticket-cancellation issue. It's pretty upsetting, though, considering there's a possibility you could arrive in a distant city with ticket in hand and not be let into the venue.

Allegedly Ticketmaster notifies people who violate their purchasing policies, but what if they send an email and I miss it? (I get A LOT of emails, since I give money to nonprofit organizations who then mercilessly solicit me for more cash...) Or call using an 800 number and I assume it's a solicitor and don't answer?

Sigh.

Really? I thought if tickets are in hand then its ok, thought the cancellations were done on thier end before the actual issuing of tickets...gonna try and see if I can find anything more, if that helps...but I'm sure I can't find more than you already know :/

Hey DotD!
just to allay some of your fears - I did a bonehead move in the Giants Stadium Best Buy presale. There is a limit of 2 for each Household for 1 venue. I thought I was super slick and signed on to my TM account and my husband's TM account. We each have different credit cards on file, so I figured I was golden, since I had 2 Best Buy precodes. To make a long story short, the genius in me didn't realize that we have the same billing address on file since we (duh) live together, so my stomach just dropped when I realized it. Now the TM site specifically states that if you violate the limit policy, ALL of your tix MAY be taken away. Well, for what it's worth, I have been checking my account since I realized my bonehead move and they have been printed and are supposedly on their way in the mail. I have not heard anything, either from TM or from other people, that would lead me to believe that once the tix are issued, they would be voided. My gut feeling is that you will be fine - just keep checking your account. Once they are mailed, I think you're fine. If you want me to copy the fine print and post it for your convenience, let me know, if it would make you feel better - trust me, once I figured out what I did, I was like Perry Freakin Mason - I can recite the rules and regs in my sleep now....

Thanks Donna! Someone over at TPT apparently got word from a higher-up at Ticketmaster that it's going to be fine...probably not the least reason is that some people went for email delivery. Can you imagine them voiding people's tickets after they'd already been delivered, en masse? Talk about a recipe for disaster.

Thanks for the compliments on the little guy there...I found him on a picnic table eating my dinner at the campsite one night. Some critters in Alaska are really cool...lots smaller and more furry, which they'd have to be, since it's about -20 up there right now...

One time when I was in Canada a squirrell came up and grabbed a cookie from my hands and was tugging at it with me. I was laughing so hard...

until he took the cookie and ran. It was a great cookie.
