So I got my tickets for Toronto in July with a code.

Now they announce November and I can't use a code anymore?

Guess it doesn't pay to be a cash paying fan these days.

That's just great, Thanks a lot!!!.

I've been taken for a ride.

You know, I actually heard they're selling those codes over on EBAY - how insulting is that?!? It's not bad enough you're getting raped for tickets, but now you're getting raked over the coals for codes. T'aint right

?? Guess I don't get it, guys. If they didn't set limits on the codes, folks who can't afford to spend the extra $100 wouldn't have a fair shot at all - presumably the band is doing two dates so more people can see them. (And if the fan club didn't cost $100, all the scalpers would buy fan club memberships and scoff up all the tickets.)

As far as putting codes on Ebay goes, how would the band's management stop that from happening? My understanding is any clown with a BB membership can request a code, and I'm sure plenty of them who aren't Police fans are seeing an opportunity to make a quick buck. (I do think whoever thought up the BestBuy aspect of this presale ought to be taken behind the woodshed, but that's another thread.)

hollo, the best way is to join The Police fan club. Some European fans have reported you must have a U.S. mailing address to buy tickets from Ticketmaster...I'll copy/paste here if I find any solutions to that on the message boards at TPT.com.

Ask around--friends/family/coworkers. I've got leads on multiple Best Buy codes that way. Use the system. And if you hate the system, well, find ways to abuse it to your best advantage. That's my motto.

And you know, if you've got some tickets? Be glad for that, really. I know a lot of folks who ended up getting shut out completely and now have to try the secondary market to get anything at all...

Also ditto to everything Divemistress said...limits had to be set or else every scalper in the market could just sign up like the rest of us and have nearly unlimited access to the tickets. And nothing shutting anyone out of the general sales...

Plus, it isn't like you can't buy another fan club membership. If you're buying the limit - something like 12 tickets counting the presales and the general - that's only about 8 bucks extra per ticket.

What I would do is buy six tickets with my second membership, then sell five of them for face value plus 15 bucks or so to cover the membership cost. I can't imagine you'd have any trouble reselling seats to any Police show anywhere, any time.

You're absolutely right about the codes! Don't get me wrong - I know it's not the band's fault or under their control at all. I guess this is why I'll never be rich - it would never occur to me to try and sell a code - God bless the entrepreneurial nature! Truthfully, though, would you EVER bid on one of those codes? I mean, some schmo can be home just making numbers up - I wouldn't touch that. I just find it amusing is all....
And I DO like your woodshed idea! I like the way you think!!!
