On mixing it up (or another "Stew please read")

Someone posted this request on one of the policetour.com boards as a request for Stewart... kinda makes sense...

Sting mixed it up while touring with the Grateful Dead in 1993 and it was fabulous, but that was it. Upon returning to his Ten Sumner's Tales tour, he went with the same set list, night after night, venue after venue, leg after leg.

And that's not all, minus the tracks from the album that a particular tour is supporting, Sting does little to change the songs that he plays. Does anyone want to hear Fragile again, ever? I've stopped going to multiple shows on a particular Sting tour, even if he comes back to my area after a year or so because I know that the concert will, for the most part, be EXACTLY the same. Frankly, I find it unacceptable for an artist of his calibur and it has left me frustrated and having felt like I wasted my money on numerous occassions.

Stewart, if you're reading this, please do your best to convince Sting otherwise. You guys are better than that. It will be very difficult for the fans attending more than one show to hear the same songs, in the same order, and the same jokes about Sting and your relationship, night after night, venue after venue. Even if it requires Sting to use a teleprompter, change things up throughout this tour. It will make things so much more interesting for the fans (and you considering how many dates you will be playing). I would understand if you consistently kept a couple of standards for the masses, but do your best. We've been waiting for so long!
