Southern California

Southern California

When they first announced the dates for the tour, there were no Los Angeles or San Diego dates. I considered Las Vegas or Phoenix, but figured Vegas would be an expensive mess of scalpers, and who really wants to go to Phoenix in the summertime, so I quickly decided to assume that some Southern California shows would be added into the very large gap before the Dallas show. To my great frustration, I'm still waiting...nervously. I'm hoping that I don't have to wait until October when they return from Europe. Has anyone heard any rumors about the dates for California?

They did announce that there would be an LA show, just not when or where.

If it's not in the summer, there's also the fall part of the tour where they're coming back through the US.

In the press release just below where they announce the current tour dates, they do list a number of cities (Los Angeles, San Francisco's bay area, Miami etc...) to be announced...

Also someone in one of the message boards @ thepolicetour.com said that he heard from "sources" about 1 or 2 nights at the Staples Center plus maybe something @ Dodger Stadium and then at Anaheim, but again I'd take all that with a tiny grain of salt until official dates are announced...

I'm definitely trying for Vegas and then as many California dates as I can afford to get to... hopefully I'm not living out of my car by this time next year...

heh, if you're living out of you car that means you didn't sell it /giggle...

from the initial info (and from the first wave of dates) either the LA and SF (as well as Tampa etc.) will be on the flipside of the US tour...I suppose they *could* be interspersed with the current dates but I think that's less likely since the schedule is pretty compact and the current schedule would take out dudes half their age (e.g. plays in Vegas on Fri night...Bonnaroo in TN the next night...AZ on the Mon.) The spaces inbetween the dates may indeed stay there for sanity's sake :)

According to what some people are saying, they might have left alot of empty dates in between the confirmed/announced tour dates in anticipation of sell-outs... apparently a 2nd night in Toronto was just added on the fly, for instance... there's a good chance that we might see quite a bit of this as the tour progresses... just a thought...

/nod, extra nights seem likely...there is a difference between adding another night to existing city already sold-out than adding another city in between two others that's why I think the other dates are for when they go back through the US but...but I reserve the right to be wrong :)

Glad to see extra nights popping up (Fenway, Toronto) due to demand--I think it's great...the presales are handled separately...more chances for fans to get tickets...less chance for fans to have to even think about paying 2-3x...all around good thing)
