THANK YOU FROM GIOVANNI

Hi gang.

Seeing people from this forum as happy as ever going to The Police Rehearsals makes me think I really did something good for their lives and something cool creating this website; 4 people were sent from this forum (and interviewed also).

I gave up due to last minute obstacles and gave away my personal invitation; you can only imagine how I felt watching the webcast, an event I could only imagine in my weirdest dream... I'm absolutely happy for all the people involved at the Whiskey and happier once again because some of them came from here.

You can't imagine how hard was to leave most of you out, but my hope is to be involved again from Stewart and the management for some more special events like this one, maybe with some more fans involved (as well as me...ehehe).

I'm happy as ever knowing The Police are touring again (ok ok, I knew that before, as you all imagined), that I will have the chance to see those three 'blondes' again (ehm...one is gray...but everytime we meet we debate on that). I think I will spend most of my money for them this year, until I can of course...my wallet isn't too big...

This site is great for Stewart presence first of all, but also for you all that keep it alive and kicking....this forum has exactly Stewart spirit, that kind of vibe spreading all the way from the stage at the Whiskey to the whole world via satellite!
We want you like this Stewart, with a big smile, with that 'grin' in your face when you play, with your big eyes 'wide open' to improvisations as happened yesterday, with such an energy .... that is very similar to 'all the forumers'!

I would sincerely like to thank Dave & Wendy from Sting.com and everybody at The Police/Sting management for the involvement and care about me and stewartcopeland.net in these days; I hope I can give them the collaboration they do expect.

Thanks also to the precious presence of my friends here at the website (Eugenio, Paola, Sergio and Marco).

Ciao ciao
Giovanni

Gio,

As said before, I think I'm not alone in saying thanks to you and the team for all your hard work keeping this site going.

Enjoy the next year or so as much as I'm sure all of the rest of us intend to!

Best wishes from the UK.

Three cheers to Gio!

No matter what new message boards and sites come along, this place is always gonna be my home. Where else would I rather hang out?

Gio,

I'm not going anywhere, the feeling of community spirit on this board is awesome.

Everyone is genuinely interested in helping people out.

I feel this is a place where I belong.

Thankyou to the whole SC.NET team

Yes, there's so much less drama here.

I understand people are upset about the whole issue with ticket bastard, but jeezy creezy people! Wow are they going over the top! Have been afraid to duck into sting.com to see the reactions over there, as legacy members and 2/12 newbies were all up in arms already.

I haven't been over there but, apart from the confusion, what is everyone so upset about? the presale doesn't start until manana.

As far as i know, the fourth person never made themselves known to the others. You really should have gone there, Gio, because you made all of this happen. I hope you are able to do something similar maybe in Italy.

Thank you Gio and Stewart! You guys rock!

It seems that there were a few people that joined Stink.com yesterday morning. Well, the cutoff for people who were existing members to automatically be enrolled in the new Police site was midnight the night before, so if you registered at Stink.com between midnight and the press conference, only for a chance at Police tickets, you registered for nothing. The problem is that there had to be a cutoff in time for the information from Stink.com to be rolled over to the new site so there's no way it could have been 2:00 EST when the site launched. It's unfortunate that there wasn't a Police site before the news broke that had existing members, but let's not go there, shall we?

The other issue is that as the new site was being launched Stink.com put up a note on their site to NOT register again, but for many of us it was too late, including me. Luckily the new accounts were quickly cancelled and refunded, but it caused some headaches. As if the rush on the site wasn't enough, lol. I really wonder if this could have been launched a little better, but whatever.

I'm starting to think that Gio and Craig got the better end of this deal, lol. Tina, Dave & Wendy are going to have lots of stress in the next 6 months!

Guys, let me tell you something. When I met Stewart yesterday (I told the story in the forum here somewhere...it was a mob, but I was standing there with the other forum folks and Stewart was only a few feet away, and I just couldn't, well, not thank him for all the joy he gives us through letting someone cool like Gio run this place, and just for being his bad self), he knew exactly who I was from the forum, and seemed enthusiastic that all of us were there. I get the sense he'd have liked to chat with everyone, but - believe me - it was just a mob. Press from all over the world, people jumping all over everyone in the band and screaming and crying...well, it was really something to see. In a good way, because IMO a big fuss gets made over people much less talented than our guys way too often, and it was good to see that kind of attention go to people who deserve it, for once.

What I'm getting at is that I think it's important to these guys that we, the fans, are involved in what's happening with them, and I think they try their dead-level best to set us up with good tickets and access when they can. Things are going to be crazy for a little while, with all the hubbub going on around the reunion, but please know that if wrinkles happen and things don't get straightened out right away, it isn't for lack of trying on their part.

Yay! Tell him we appreciate him, Gio...for real. I mentioned to someone at the Backstage yesterday that a really great part of being involved with SC.net is having met so many cool people, literally from all over the world. Think of how much fun we're going to have all summer hooking up and grooving to the sounds of the band we never, ever thought we'd get to see.

You guys really ARE the best invisible friends a gal could ever have. And I'm sure grateful to Stewart (Gio, Eugenio, the AUI people, even Sting.com) for that.

(On a personal note, now I owe thanks to Stewart for the great time I had running all over Los Angeles the past couple of days...and with really cool people, to boot. I hadn't realized there were some really neat things in this city - the beach in Santa Monica, great shops and restaurants, to say nothing of the Backstage - and I wouldn't have found it out had I not come out here to see the show. Membership here just seems like the gift that keeps on giving, you know...? ;))

You are fantastic Gio! You always say "thanks" to everybody but the one to really thank is YOU, my dearest! You, who gave start to this wonderful project, with the "only" strenght of your passion, willing to share it with other people...
I bless the day I run into you (it was 2003... we're old friend, aren't we? :D )
TVB !!!
